✔️ Russia’s most Iconic Church - Church of the Savior on Blood
World Cup vibes bringing me back to Russia. Last summer I spent a month traversing Russia by train. One of the last stops was St. Petersburg - standing outside of this church I had one of those moments .. you know when you are finally at your destination you’ve only seen in pictures? Surreal.
Moreover inside is equally as impressive. Spent at least two hours wondering through and snapping pictures of all the colorful walls and archways. In the afternoons there’s also an unbelievable male a cappella group that plays near the top in one of the intimate walkthrough rooms. Really magical ✨
"How do you deal with the refugee crisis abroad?"
I am in no way an expert when it comes to things happening in the political field of the US but it's safe to say I am disgusted with the things happening at the border. Children as young as 18 months being separated from their families with no promise of being reunited, living in cages and facilities.. it makes me angry and my stomach turn. I simply don't understand the inhumanity of it.
I remember there was great debate in Europe and all over the world when millions of Syrians lost their home and needed refuge. Some countries took in as many refugees as they could and some didn't/couldn't.
I know this is a heavy topic but it affects us all. We travel the world and meet people from all walks of life, each with their own experience. And we cannot turn a blind eye to what is happening around us.
Because many of you come from all over the world, I am sharing this post today to get insight. How does your country stand on welcoming refugees? Is there a popular opinion and a less popular? Have you or anyone you know volunteered at camps? How has the refugee crisis personally affected you or your country? The news doesn't always offer the smaller details and I'm interested to learn the things that aren't talked about.
**For those looking to help with what is currently happening at the border, there are organizations that you can donate to such as RAICES or ACLU. There are also other options that don't involve donating such as calling your senator or volunteering.
Is it wrong that I’m actually celebrating the fact that I’m staying at one of the most infamous drug lords mansions of all time? Perhaps... But I’ve been a die-hard Narcos fan since day, so what can I say? I’m GASSED.
In a nutshell? White, spacious and simple. Each room has a large lounging area, a comfy-ass bed, and contains unique artworks. The bathrooms are spacious too; with a rain shower, an earthy stone sink and HUGE mirror (what more could A vain girl like me ask for?). If you’re thinking of staying here my TOP TIP is to make sure your room is ocean-facing. Waking up to the views of the sea and palm trees from my sunny beachfront terrace is what made my room experience so special.
Dinner last night after a round of pasta and risotto already. Lamb chop, 1 kilo of T-bone 🥩and another type of steak #stuffed

Bologna has almost 40km of porticos...the covered walkways that shelter pedestrians from all kinds of weather.
They were originally built to prop up the extended living spaces above them, and it eventually became a law that all new houses should have a portico with specific dimensions!
I love this picture...the strategically parked scooters make it very aesthetically pleasing 😄
*Welcome to the Bali rice terraces that most tourists don’t see*
For my second time around on the island, I really wanted to venture off the beaten path a bit and explore some areas outside the well-worn tourist track. The East coast of Bali was definitely that. This morning @bontraveler and I showed up at a tiny little trail entrance with no other tourists in sight as our guide led us over a foot bridge and along a winding path (that was more like a ledge) weaving high above these beautiful rice terraces. As we trekked, we witnessed people well into their 70s or maybe even older working in the intense heat to tend to their crops. We passed by tiny little communities in the hills where families sleep at night and then tend to the land again each day doing quite physical labor. It was a small peek at a true taste of Balinese life — one that you don’t see much in Instagram photos.
At one point along the trail, we paused and turned our heads back to survey the landscape and were shocked to see Mt Agung in all its glory rising into the sky. Apparently it’s often quite covered with clouds so the fact that we were able to see it so clearly was a treat! It’s days and moments like these that remind me why I continue to travel.
Thanks to @amankila and @kiwicollection for this beautiful morning experiencing the true Balinese way of life 🙏🏻 #amanpartner
