Having left in the dark, early morning, at this point heading down into the Grand Canyon the sun broke over the horizon and highlighted the trail we needed to take.. ❗️We have to admit something ❗️
Having taken so many photos on this trip our Instagram has fallen far behind! As a result we are going to spam the hell out of our photos over the next couple weeks so we can catch up and start posting actual day to day content! 😛 sorry not sorry! #radparks
Spending my birthday quite differently this year - by myself, in a city I have never been and surrounded by people I have never met yet have shown me kindness. For the first time, I don’t have cake either and that’s okay. I took a stroll to the Po-i-Kalyan complex early this morning. Bukhara slowly stirred as the sun rose from behind these beautiful monuments that are centuries older than I. Here, I am alone, and completely at peace. Happy birthday to me.
Part 2: We woke up at 4am on Sunday morning and packed up our tent. We continued our hike up at 5am and were in the clouds the whole time, so visibility wasn’t great. It was cold, wet, and windy. We both had our headlamps, but still had some difficulty locating the trail. There was a point where we came to a fork and weren’t sure which way was the right way. One “trail” was really sandy and steep that it looks like we might slide down instantly. The other “trail” was a rocky stream that looks like it lead to a waterfall. We ended up taking the sandy one and it eventually lead into the real trail. To be continued... 😊
