Visitors to @tastingaustralia last year had the opportunity to try our pizzas at the festival's home base, so this year we're serving everything else, at ours.
Everything But The Pizza is an intimate celebration of our Abruzzese heritage presented at the home of Pizzateca in McLaren Vale. Join us at midday on Friday 12th April for a 5-course Abruzzo-inspired feast of local seasonal ingredients prepared traditionally, with love, and washed down with plenty of our very own V.Mitolo & Son wines.
The talented people at @laveracheese have created a delectable new taste for the palette by using 100% South Australian Murraylands Buffalo Milk for their newly launched Belmondo Buffalo Blue.
Italian for “beautiful world”, Belmondo has been two years in the making, and has already been awarded a finalist position for the Australian Grand Dairy Awards.
Founded in 1984 by the Marmorale family, La Vera has today expanded and is recognised as one of South Australia’s leading hand made, farm house cheese producers.
Head cheesemaker Pino and his wife Giovanna, created the business with a vision to share their passion for the genuine art of cheesemaking, drawing on their traditional Italian roots and heritage.
Three generations of cheese making has won La Vera hundreds of nationally recognised awards since, including a gold medal for SA Dairy Industry Awards for La Vera Parmesan and La Vera Haloumi taking out a finalist award for Australian Grand Dairy Awards.
The Belmondo Buffalo Blue is available to purchase in all Chapley’s Foodlands, the Adelaide Central Market, local independent food outlets and La Vera’s Newton retail store.
With tastings available and friendly staff more than willing to offer recommendations on pairings and recipes ideas, their retail outlet, directly next door to their manufacturing premises, is well worth the visit.
This is one of the men in my life that I got my drive and family values from. He was always someone who put family first before anything in the world. He never complained about anything. Cooked an amazing lamb on the spit. Didn’t like hugs too much but you knew how much he adored you. He was someone who inspired and reassured people that everything would be okay. Even on his final breath. These are the qualities I want to continue to project to my family. These qualities changed my life forever. I love you papou...
Watching the storm coming in ⚡️. I guess we have wait patiently for the good weather since it’s autumn here in Australia. Sunny days, everyday is not longer on the menu.... until we head north of course. I still have to say that autumn here is better than back home if you are a summer person.
And I guess.. patience is not about waiting, it’s about the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. I know someone that needs to work on that 🙄
We tried to come up with a pun, but thought that would be a bit SEALY 🤪
We can honestly say that swimming with the sealions at Baird Bay was the BEST thing we have done while travelling Oz!
We were totally in awe of these friendly doggos of the sea. We spent almost 2 hours playing, diving, spinning and dancing with them. Just look at that face 😍😍
Would love to know what your fav tours have been, so we can do them!! ✌️
The Dog Fence at Coober Pedy 27th April 2018. The Dog Fence is the Longest Fence in the world. Originally built in 1880s and finished in 1885, to keep dingoes out of the relatively fertile south-east part of the continent (where they had largely been exterminated) and protect the sheep flocks of southern Queensland. It stretches 5,614 kilometres (3,488 mi). It's a combination of various Farm land boarders preventing livestock attacks.
We’ve almost lived in this bus in a scrap yard for a year now and it’s strange to us how normal it has felt. I’m sure this will be one of the most memorable chapters in our lives, but we may look back and just think what on earth were we up to? 😂
