Potato leek soup... not the most exciting soup to photograph but it is my favorite. It’s the soup that started it all. It was the first soup I made from scratch with farmers market ingredients and it was amazing. This deli bought soup was a little subpar but still tasty.

From one #foodlover to another, I just wanted to say, I am no longer interested in reading a #review written by someone only interested in complaining. I think there is a place for a bad review, I am also of the #opinion that there are too many bad opinions out there. We don't want to to hear about what people don't like, we want to hear about what people DO like.
Good thing too, because that's not we're doing here! We're here to talk about the good stuff. You know that stuff that makes you feel #GOOD on the INSIDE after you've crushed a bowl of noodles?

THE SECOND ONE; Ramen Danbo - #fukuokastyleramen
My intro into real #ramen over a decade ago, my #chef at the time couldn't believe I never had it. It's funny because back in '07 there were only about 3 ramen bars in #Vancity. Now they're prolific, everywhere, a #craze. But like any explosion in the market we realise that the status quo compromises 80% and the #exceptional shines above. To me, Danbo is arguably the best I have had, and I've eaten a LOT of ramen this last decade. It's tough because my heart belongs to another -which we will get into later- the one that was my favorite since my inception into real ramen.
Danbo sports a simple menu with a growing trend. It offers 4 types of ramen, specialized to your taste. Thick or thin #noodles, how firm or soft, how rich your #tonkotsu is, how #spicy and finally how much #Umami paste you want on-top. All optional, all up to you. Sounds great doesn't it? I won't go into their individual bowls because they are all great, but I personally gravitated towards miso and their negi-goma (sesame) and because it's me, I always go rekka (spicy). But hey, don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Check out their busy times on the internet, or you may have to wait in line.
Comment below and I'll tag you in future top20s
Oh yeah, don't forget to add an #egg.

January is Soup Month & I'm enjoying my warming bean soup at this (cold) time of year! Beans are a natural source of resistant starch (which is digested by beneficial bacteria in the gut) & small amounts of non-starch polysaccharides (also digested by beneficial gut bacteria.) Beans may contribute to a healthy gut & immune system, shown by recent studies to be key to overall good heath.
