Where did the weekend go? Back to creating orders. A day like today is a perfect day to apply your car decal.
Outdoor vinyl likes to be warm to apply. If it is to cold it has a job to stick first time.
A sunny warm day is perfect plus you wouldn't want a really hot day either as for me who wants to stand out in the heat?
For the last 4 or 5 years I’ve been telling myself I need to read more 📚 ...And if I’m being completely honest, over the last 31 years (excluding the last 12 months!)...You could actually count the books I’ve read cover to cover on 1 hand!
Anyway, for the last 3 or so months I’ve been plugging away at this game changer...And I finally finished it 2 days ago! If like myself you feel the need to read more, this may just be the best place to start! 🤓📖👍

Sound’s off on a lot of social video, so how can you make silence golden?⠀ ⠀
If you’re checking FB on the loo (no judgement!!!), being able to mute videos is VERY handy. But if you’re making video for social you gotta make it work without sound.⠀ ⠀
There are two main ways to do this.⠀ ⠀
To find out what they are and how they work head to the blog - link in bio!⠀

Two years ago I had an 8 month old and awkwardly asked my partner to take a profile pic for a new Facebook page I was starting called ‘Body Alchemy’. I had finally decided to pursue the call to teach.
I could never have imagined how fulfilling this business would become & where it would lead me, but man, I’m happy I started 🙏🏼
Before I became a VA I had never attended a networking event. I was so nervous at my first one, I think I was shaking⠀
But I needed to go as I was new in the area is was vital for me to network to make contacts & get my name out there⠀
There are ways to help make networking easier: ⠀
1. Arrive early, or at least on time. You'll appear organised, calm & will get the chance to talk to more people.⠀
2. Smile - people are drawn to a friendly face.⠀
3. Be yourself - you're there to create relationships & they should be with the real you.⠀
4. Ask questions - show an interest in the other person, they might offer a service you require.⠀
5. Don't sell. People buy from people they know, like & trust. Offer advice, suggestions & recommendations instead.⠀
6. Share your knowledge - this will make you look like an expert in your field.⠀
7. Have a conversation - listen to what the other person is saying & respond appropriately.⠀
8. Follow up - if they gave you a business card then send an email or message on social media to say hi. Invite them to connect on LinkedIn.⠀
Have fun networking, you might meet some interesting people.
Successfully deployed a brand new server architecture for a client's website. ✅ Everything hosted at their own datacenter because they care about their data, which is awesome.
Learnt a lot by deploying my first on-premise, production @mongodb replica set. Up until now, I used to just trust mLab with all the "boring work", but it's actually pretty cool to set it up yourself!
On the applicative side: 2+ @reactioncommerce servers monitored with @keymetrics_pm2. 2+ Nginx proxies for static file compression, caching and one big Nginx load balancer at the very forefront of that. Not mentioning the separate dev environment nor the automated build/deployment system... That is interesting stuff for sure! The most rewarding part of my job clearly is to help my clients scale and see their businesses grow with time.
Gotta love working remotely from my family's house in the South of France.
This 13" MacBook Pro will soon need to be replaced as I can feel its limits affecting my workflow. Still not decided on what's next. MacBook Pro 15"? Surface Book? Razer Blade?
So some of that admin I've been doing recently was sorting out these compliments cards 😄printed by @helloprintuk. It's been on my to do list for literally years and I'm quite pleased I've finally got them done! Often the never-ending list of things to do can be overwhelming when you're a sole trader. My motto at the moment is 'chip away' And I very much am chipping away, one little step at a time.
