'Tahoe Heights' ✨ The beautiful colours of Lake Tahoe on a warm and sunny day... the colours have got to be seen to be believed... whether youre immersed in the beautiful waters or seen from the sky.
I have come to know the Mammoth staff here as incredibly gracious. Earlier this year, I had lost my phone filming myself trying to rip (too) fresh pow down Cornice. It miraculously returned to me a week later, no footage lost. Today at the summit, before even a single run...my board had slipped away and rashly flew off the backcountry cliff, sighhh yes, right after this PHOTO was taken 🤦🏻♀️ People around us had gotten quite a treat watching me chase it to the edge, make a pretty accurate dive grab, before which the stubbornly slippery thing gained a whole audience peering over the cliff, collectively hoping it would get caught somewhere. Right on the narrow catwalk off the Dave’s Run ramp, it did! ❤️As I laid there, ski patrol was called, and I’m letting it be known that Jarette @capelliworld is such an angel for making the trek down to rescue my board and climbing back up with it. I knew you hated my guts on that trek, so my offer to buy you a beer still stands! I hope @mammothmountain gives you a raise or names you “Patrol of the Week” if that’s a thing. And thanks for letting me film this eventful moment. That said, in honor of #internationalmountainday I’m happily and unequivocally calling Mammoth my home peak 🥳 Two important possessions lost, two miraculous events. Oh Mammoth you really do love me. What am I going to lose next? —Proud “lucky jerry”

Happy International Mountain Day! While I'm still sharing some photos from our JMT adventure this past summer, I still want to thank all of my adventure buddies out there that have or still quest into the mountains with me.
The winter here has so far been very mild, to be honest I expected a lot more snow for a Montana winter. But with nothing but snow in the forecast for the next ten days I finally am starting to get a little giddy. I love the winter in the National Parks so much! The snow makes everything so much more beautiful, and having these normally crowded places to ourselves makes it all the more magical. Whenever I look at pictures from my past parks, its the ones from this time of year that are the most special. I can’t wait to see what winter in Glacier has to offer!
🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌 Albert Bierstadt's beautifully crafted paintings played to a hot market in the 1860s for spectacular views of the nation's frontiers. Bierstadt was an immigrant and hardworking entrepreneur who had grown rich pairing his skill as a painter with a talent for self-promotion. He unveiled his canvases as theatrical events, selling tickets and planting news stories—strategies that one critic described as the "vast machinery of advertisement and puffery." A Bierstadt canvas was elaborately framed, installed in a darkened room, and hidden behind luxurious drapes. At the appointed time, the work was revealed to thunderous applause. 🎨 Albert Bierstadt, “Among the Sierra Nevada, California,” 1868 #atSAAM#internationalmountainday#mountain#sierranevada#albertbierstadt#bierstadt#americanart#painting#landscape
