Longing for bike adventures, new places to ride and expansive blue skies. I pedaled past this on my fall bike trip. Thinking fondly of my trip and feeling grateful for a body that lets me do so many things.
Sun and warmth will come again soon enough. In the meantime, I need to make some magic happen and get myself outside. .
I'm trying to find one picture that sums up Death Valley 2018 but I guess this picture will do; our first attempt of a group photo without a tripod. The photo was shot just as the camera was falling off our homemade tripod. I think this could very well be a classic.

i was talkin to a few friends the other day about how valuable a man of character is. now a days, it seems like they are few and far in between. even when it hurts, david has always remained a man of character. i wouldn’t trade that trait for the world, literally. 🌎💕 he’s da bomb.com ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“I am, and I am going to be, the kind of person I have trained myself to be. In a way that almost amounts to just retribution, I am stuck with the results of all my choices.” -- Anne Truitt, Turn: The Journal of an Artist
“Soy, y voy a ser, el tipo de persona que me he entrenado para ser. De una manera que casi equivale a una simple venganza, estoy estancada con los resultados de todas mis elecciones "

This beautiful art here is a mural in Chicago and I took this picture back in September. These blue hues gave me all the good feelings. Thanks to my sisters @nahiministar and @draztastic for facilitating this experience. I hope the quote, kind of matches the mood of the mural...
One year ago I fell in love with this beauty! Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to spend over a week (cumulatively) on her snowy slopes learning fundamental mountaineering skills, snow camping, climbing to Camp Muir and Whitman Crest via the Fryingpan Glacier. My summit attempt this past year got canceled due to weather, but I’m confident that I’ll make it to her peak this next year and maybe if I’m lucky I’ll get to spend another week of my life surrounded in her magic.
This time last year @woolleyrj and I were getting packed for Galiano 💜 it will always be one of my favourite adventures.

Who wants to hear a story about how I left 5 homemade chunky chocolate chip cookies and a Labrador in the car for 5 minutes whilst I popped into Walmart? Can you guess how it ends? What’s been coming out the other end all evening has not.been.pleasant. 🙄 Can’t be mad for long though. She’s so freaking cute. ❤️_____________________________________________________

Slots & Stones Day 2: Woke up early to see the sunrise at horseshoe bend yesterday. Morning tour of the lower antelope canyon and the rest of the day was free to explore Monument Valley and the surrounding areas. The valley was perhaps under water at one point, as they have found amphibian and fish fossils in the Moenkopi layer (the top layer) of these monuments. Wandered to the Forest Gump Point, Gooseneck state park and finally had a Navajo taco. | #MonumentValley | #FujifilmXPro2
We’re all going at our own pace and taking our own paths and I think that’s awesome. Something I’m really beginning to realize is that the things so ingrained in me growing up are not my ways of thinking anymore. At 30 years old I don’t have a career, not even close. It was something I had always sacrificed because my biggest passion was travelling, but I felt guilty growing older and not yet having a career like most people my age. I guess what I’m starting to realize is that I don’t want to get to the end of my life and realize my main memories were working a job that made me miserable and never gave me time off to pursue my passions. I love that I can look back and say I remember chilling with penguins and watching icebergs the size of city blocks flip over while avalanches were happening nearby, and camping in Antarctica under the most incredible night sky I’ve ever witnessed. I remember teaching preschool to amazing kids in Africa who taught me more about life than I could have ever taught them. I remember backpacking Southeast Asia by myself as a tiny little woman and gaining confidence in more solo adventures. I remember all my trips to Europe and the countries I’ve made memories in and the history lessens that came alive by being able to physically be there. I remember spotting polar bears in the Arctic and kayaking through brash ice. I remember my first helicopter ride that took me to a lake in the Andes that my friend and I got to ourselves. I remember exploring more of my own backyard and falling more in love with my own home. And soon, I’ll remember when I finally had the courage to move far away to Australia. These are just a few of my many adventures by the age of 30 and I can’t wait for another 30 years of pursuing my passions. I may not have accomplished something career-wise, but I feel pretty proud of the things I have accomplished because countless times I stepped out of my comfort zone and just went for it and because despite being told I’m not living life how I should, I’ve followed my own path anyway and I’ve been a lot happier and felt more fulfilled because of it.
i wait until subzero temperatures to go to Venice so i don’t get trampled by the crowds

For me, a sign of success is if I am as brown as the surrounding wood (look Mum I've made it). Soaking up some rays while soaking in the outdoor tub of the sea villa at Azulik. Right it has to be said; as amazing as this hotel is, what really made this experience for me was the sea villa’s outdoor space. Swipe right to see what this villa’s amazing outdoor space has to offer! Expect; incredible ocean front views from the comfort of a swing, an outdoor mosaic bath, and a large swing lounger hanging over the tub. Can’t get much better!
Let's talk about Sri Lankan food 🍌🍍🥥Fresh AF. As a tourist, we saw about 90% of what we ate in the raw. When we had tea, we saw the tea fields. Coconut juice- basically comes straight from the tree. We ate fish that came out of the ocean minutes before. Fresh fruit and veggie markets are everywhere! This was such an unexpected highlight of the trip. I was almost embarrassed to take all these pictures of the fresh produce from local farmer markets because it is so rare to see this at home in NYC! 🥕🌶🥔

Opted inside for maybe one of the first weekends this year. It was good to slow down, spend time with friends and savor this quieter season of life. Dreaming of these mountain sunrises though.
A couple weeks ago, I made a last-minute decision to go backpacking and chase fall colors because I got my work done with earlier than expected. It was a very good decision. .
