Dia duit - It‘s meeh, Sibylle!
Born and bred in the midst of Germany‘s Ruhr Area in North Rhine-Westphalia, I decided to spend some time abroad in Dublin. Together with my partner Jolle, I work as a German language assistant at a second-level school. At weekends we travel through Ireland to get to know the country and its culture.

Arguably the most magical place we visited in Ireland, as well as my personal fav was Slea Head. Situated on the Westernmost point of the Dingle Peninsula, this breathtaking beauty offers sweeping views of the Blasket Islands. Interestingly, it was also a film site for, ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII.’🎥
Also, check out these darling sheep 🐑 of Slea Head😍💕. Seriously, how cute are they?!
Pulled off and made some friends. We also finally got to experience our "sheep in the road" drive! 😂 We must have stopped 10 times to let them just wonder to the next side. Loved it! 💚 #connemara#sheepofireland#sheep#ireland
Ewe two in Ireland’s Knockmealdown Mountains! 🤨
The free range sheep in the mountains are brightly coloured because
a) They are punk rock
b) so the cars can see them crossing the road
c) so the farmers can see them from far away.
Personally, I am leaning towards “a” 🤔...those sheep are baaaaaaadass! #punstagram#knockmealdowns#sheepofireland#sheepoftheday
This photo represents much of Donegal County: sheep, rolling hills, a hint of blue sky, and not much else! This gorgeous northern region of Ireland feels like a step back in time to when the pace was slower, roads were narrower, and nature was allowed to flourish around us.

When I first got Ireland,
I remember sitting on the edge of the bed and taking a deep breath.
It was lashing rain.
I was exhausted, not from travel or the time changes.
I was exhausted from years of expectations I held myself to.
Which spiralled into burn out and depression.
That for years I tried to fix it by filling the days and wearing myself out.
As I said on the end of the bed, twenty one, on my own in the city across the world,
I got to ask myself who do I want to be?
Well I don’t want to be tired any more, I thought to myself. I want to take time, I want to have time, and not just be busy.
Take time to care for those around me and for myself.
This is the country, the city, the taught me to be free and to just be.
The country that taught me how to rest.
The city that taught me about new friends and new things.
And for that I thank you.
Haven't you 'herd'? Here at the Dingle Peninsula we have a wolly big problem with traffic jams.
However, we can guarantee a good nights sleep. All you have to do is count sheep.
There are Irish stores all over USA and Canada like little microcosms of Ireland for their area, selling everything from Barrys Tea to gorgeous celtic jewelery, aran sweaters etc. Very community based, very much a warm blanket of Ireland spread across the USA. We are the official magazine of the @nacta.ie (North America Celtic Trade Association) and our mag is available in their stores and at their trade events. The NACTA have a very healthy travel wing as well where you can book trips to Ireland online or via their store network - they are resellers of Ireland trips with CIE International.
