Living in a ski town can be a blessing and a curse. I don’t know how many times I had to bartend on powder days, and I knew I was going to actually make money that day but I was bummed to be missing out on the epic conditions. Person after person would sit at the bar, recounting their EPIC day on the mountain while I poured drinks🍻🍹 . So, I was happy about being able to pay rent, but sad about getting sloppy seconds on the mountain my next day off.
But, rent had to be paid. So to have $900 deposited into my bank account for 1 week of work while I was skiing yesterday, and then to be able to go out again today without having to “call in sick” with the powder flu is life changing for me. It’s WHY I moved here in the first place🙌. .
I always thought freedom was having enough money to do whatever I wanted. And yes, money is nice and we all need it, but for me real freedom is time. Time to do the things we love. To have BOTH, well it’s everything to me. .
This is the smile of a woman that worked really hard to make her dreams come true. One that knows the value in creating her dreams instead of someone else’s. And I’m ready to help other women do the same. .
So if you’re at work, and missed an epic ski day, or if you know this feeling all too well, drop a ❄️❄️❄️ emoji below or fill out the #TribeUp application in my bio. It’s time to work hard, so we can play hard #ShredPow
*note: there is no guarantee of income if you open your own business and we work together, you have to want it and work hard for the freedom😘

Hello weekend! 👋
Glad I got the chance this summer to meet so many other female solo travelers my age and go adventuring together. Here I am zooming around Naxos on an ATV for the first time, in search of deserted beaches 🏖 and the best Greek salad. 🥗
You know that feeling when you’re so pumped you barely have enough energy to clip the chains? That’s how ending this week has felt 😂 second week of the semester and it already feels like finals! But with my masters qualifying exam behind me I’m heading to Ouray for some much needed hot springs and beer... and some ice climbing too I suppose.

A week ago I was climbing frozen waterfalls in Bozeman Montana, today I stood under a waterfall in a rainforest. El Yunque is the only rainforest in a U.S. National Park. It suffered heavy damages in Hurricane Maria and some of the roads and trails are still closed. Today, we were lucky to be greeted by park employees working without pay under their own volition. The park brings about $500,000 in tourism to the local economy and these employees fought to keep the park open during the government shutdown to help boost the economy that is still recovering. I have certainly enjoyed doing my part by vacationing here! .
What do you think, is this painting done?
I tried to capture the colors of sunrise as they spread across the landscape. The pink clouds swirled across the sky lighting up the blue horizon. It was magic:) .
I like that I captured as much of it as I could while it was happening, and that makes me want to leave it as is. But if you swipe left you’ll see the sky was so vibrant, I could paint a little more to try and capture more of that. What do you think? More or leave it?
If you swipe, the pictures are by the talented @sarina_clark !

Hawaii is beautiful. Instagram sucks.
Every photo I post at the moment seems to do a little worse. What do you want to see? What don’t you want to see? I’d love to hear your opinions, the good and bad. Because I am close to giving up on this sh*t. Please be honest.

Today’s #fbf is an ode to some of the times I’ve struggled, and hid those struggles incredibly well. This is not to diminish the people, places, or events represented, because my smiles and laughter were real. But the anxiety and darkness that was roiling around inside of me at the same time are, I think, important to call out, because they aren’t obvious. And on social media, all you can see is the obvious.
I chose these particular photos because they represent fantastic moments in my life - weddings, hiking in the mountains, international trips, up north, at the fair with friends. I ended many of these days crying. Or staying up all night, hardly able to breathe, staring at my phone waiting for text messages that never came. The night the seventh photo was taken, I disappeared from my hotel room, where I sat on the floor in the hallway shoving handfuls of chips into my mouth and sobbing, “Why doesn’t he love me?” softly to myself until friends came and found me. The last photo, the one where I’m smiling at a beach in Malibu, was taken in the middle of what was one of the worst days of my life to date. I ended that day on a friend’s couch in Los Angeles, where I spent the following three days lying in the same place, under a blanket, getting up only to shower, pour myself more wine, and walk to In-N-Out.
My point is this: social media isn’t real. We all know that, but dear god, is it hard to remember sometimes. I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety lately, and scrolling through feeds full of people living dream lives hasn’t done anything to lessen it. But the truth of the matter is that we have absolutely no idea what is going on in peoples’ lives. I can’t count how many times my ex and I were in the middle of a huge fight, but because we were in a beautiful place, we snapped a smiling selfie and hit upload. I’ve watched as couples on the verge of divorce change their profile pictures to happy portraits of them in love. I’ve been in group photos with smiling friends I knew were going through severe depression.
Do not compare your behind the scenes with someone else’s stage show. Don’t do it. These are words I’ve been needing to hear, so I'm saying them.
Its 7:30am here in Japan.
Waking up, I have to admit that most parts of my body are hurting.
Sore, tired, but still a massive smile spreads across my face.
Yesterday is definitely up there in one of my best days riding ever.
40+cm of fresh Japan powder.
Endless laughs ripping through trees, getting face shots, falling, and struggling to stand back up in all of the snow.
My body hurts, but my heart is full.
Not many photos were taken.
There was too much fun to be had and fresh tracks we didn’t want to miss a minute of.
However, after tomahawking myself down some trees and landing, only to realize as I sat flat on my ass that the snow was higher than my head, well that needed documenting. It was deep.
With only a few days left in Japan, this is one I will never forget. 🙏❄️🏂💕

All people at root are time optimists. We always think there’s enough time to do things with other people. Time to say things to them. And then something happens and then we stand there holding on to words like “if.”
- Fredrik Backman
So nice had to post twice!! I love finding little gems like this that you plan just because you have some extra time and they end up being way cooler than expected.. we were really nervous walking up to the caverns because we seen dog prints with no human prints beside them so we figured coyotes (definitely where I’d stay if I was wild) but it was vacant for the time being

When you travel, do you prefer hotels or Airbnb? Would you sleep at this one Airbnb, in South Africa surrounded by 70 lions🦁? The Lion House set right on the @ggconservation The three-bedroom house costs around $100 and offers you a chance to sleep only a few feet away from 70 lions that live in the sanctuary😱 Wouldn’t that be an awesome experience❓😅 Btw, the money you pay for the house go towards the conservation, helping support and protect the lions! So, who wants to go? 💯🙋🏼♀️ ~
No seriously, how are you traveling full time?! How are you affording it? How are you living this life? GUYS! Believe it or not, 𝗜 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞! 👩🏼💻
I’m what you call a 𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘥.
But what’s a digital nomad?
It’s a term that was created for an individual that is able to work outside the office, requiring only a laptop and wifi. Wikipedia explains a digital nomad as 𝘢 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘤 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳. 𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘤𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘴, 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘤𝘰-𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘷𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴.
and guess what?! It can be you too!
Now a-days, so many of work in an office and barely communicate with our coworkers. We’re writing emails, calling into meetings, chatting on Slack, and Skyping our partners and clients. You start to wonder, can’t I do this ANYWHERE!? And the answer is YES you can.
A lot of companies are now allowing their employees to work from home to help serve a better work life balance. So, given the option, if you have the flexibility to work from home, you could choose to not have a “home” or have a bunch of homes all over the world. OR, if you’re someone like me and don’t want to give up your property, you can rent it and make an extra income while traveling. (I’ll share more about how to make this possible in a later post!)
Some digital nomads have 9-5 jobs where they clock in around the time zone their company is based out of, others are independent contractors, freelancers, entrepreneurs, or down right hustlers— like me. 🙋🏼♀️
Now I understand not everyone is in a position where they can work remotely, and I lucked out choosing a career that fits the bill, but whatever your profession, where there’s a will there’s usually always a way.
So what do you think, is this lifestyle for you? ✈️🌎
