In the bowl - Chicken, Onsen Egg, Fishskin and Rice. Break the egg, mix everything up and chomp down till there is no rice left. This is a fuss free lunch option albeit the price is too high (for me) to have it daily.
Ordered on Waitrr, pick up my food and head back to office for lunch - that's how i spend my lunch time for awhile.

Recreated this spicy pork rib soup from Thailand. Laeng Saeb เล้งแซ่บ. Boiled the ribs for 3 hours with coriander roots, garlic and white peppercorns. Everyone decides how much green chilli they need to burn their belly, coriander, lime and fish sauce to add to their soup. My rear end was on fire the next day. The other dish is stir fried vegetables with roast pork. Also another Thai staple 😋👍
Whisky flight featuring Old Pulteney Single Malt 12 years, Glengoyne Highland Single Malt 12 years & Tamdhu Speyside Single Malt 12 years.. Imagine, pairing this with a serving of crispy skin, tender & juicy roasted pork 🥃

ST. ALi TAKEOVER!! One of the best coffee houses in Melbourne is in town this weekend.
From 21 Jun-23 Jun 2019 (operating hours 7:30am-8pm), they will be taking over @bearded.bella, serving the iconic St ALi brunch and coffee. The Aussie style brunch items include:
• Avo Toast - same but different. Made up of mixed grains and smooth avocado purée what’s there to not like!
• Koo Koo Ca Choo - Charcoal dusted poached eggs with potato rosti, mushroom, house-made ricotta and truffle vinaigrette.
• Mexican Cousin - corn fritters that has a slight fiery kick
• The Big Apple Bircher - a healthier option with house-made muesli soaked in Apple juice
• Red Velvet Pancakes - these pancakes are so light and while you know red velvet goes with cream cheese like a match made in heaven, the touch of Oreo crumbs were brilliant.
Best part? @stali_jkt barista Mikael Jasin, 2019 Indo Barista Champion will be there too. See you there mate!
This must be the most unique "bak chor mee" that I have ever eaten in my life! Contrary to the usual chili and vinegar, it was exchanged with sweetness and soft texture instead. This bowl is not your usual favourite comfort food but a creative dessert that looks like bak chor mee. The yellow "noodles" were made from passion fruit and a coconut parfait "fishball" as well as gula melaka crumble to replace the "bak chor", pineapple crushed ice, red tea jelly and mango fluff.
We waited quite a while before this "dish" was served. We figured that it was only prepared on demand with careful proportions and plating. The waitress recommended us to stir it before eating the dish. Frankly speaking, I was quite impressed that the presentation was very similar to a bowl of bak chor mee. A pair of chopsticks were even given to eat with the "noodles" too. Sweet, sour and crunchy, it was not bad but it feels like a mismatch of the looks and taste (too used to the usual bak chor mee😅). Priced at $14.90, I would most likely try this once in a long time, but definitelt thumbs up to the creativeness! We will definitely be back for the other desserts (nasi lemak looks interesting too)! Looking forward to try the range of ice cream and the pretty koi shaped desserts too (swipe left)! A good place to hang out with friends with the cosy atmosphere😎 ~M

An absolutely stunning appetizer packed with an array of flavors namely sweet, spicy and savory. Learnt this from a true Nonya Chef at a Peranakan Cooking Class in Singapore. Trust me you’d be begging for more! 🙈
Late dinner one night ended up being this fish and chips from D’good. I ended up with an extra sirloin steak because of a 1-for-1 mains promotion for late hours. Not sure whether to blame some corner cutting cos of the 1-for-1 or to blame perhaps the late hours and hence possible absence of their chef, but the fish and chips was mostly batter and little fish whilst the sirloin was too paper thin to really consider it a proper steak... Luckily it’s 1-for-1 and not full price! But still, so disappointing as D’good’s coffee and desserts are usually very nice ☹️

Sometimes, walking away has nothing do with weakness, and everything to do with strength. We walk away not because we want others to realize our worth and value, but because we finally realize our own.
Sliced fish soup with thick bee hoon. Comfort food after a busy day. Did you see the steam? Haha
I like how thick the fish slices are. The fish is not too well done. Its done medium rare. Hence, its nice and tender. The broth is of medium thickness. It doesn't leave a fishy after taste.
No evaporated milk used in the preparation. 😎
I didn't eat the fried bee hoon in the background btw.

Pictured above: Piccolo Latte + Poached Eggs (on toast with hollandaise and smoked salmon)
It was one of those I-could-have-done-this-myself moments as I started sinking in to my breakfast this morn.
Stellar poached eggs, I must say. Perfectly firm whites and runny gooey yolk that you get to mop up with that thick toast were about the best things on the plate.
Toast was dry. I thought it might have benefitted from some buttering. The hollandaise was creamy but missing that important element of tart to cut through its flat oily richness.
Dried parsley on top just highlighted the fact that there was nothing fresh, juicy and tart to liven up that plate. I was rather disappointed on the whole given how tucked away the establishment was and how generally disorderly the decor was, which gave this place a quaint charm about it.
I remember coming here as a child when this nasi padang restaurant used to be located at the old Rendezvous hotel on Bras Basah road. My parents and grandparents loved coming here and purely for nostalgic reasons I couldn't resist coming here when I happened to pass by during dinner time. The format is very old school and you order and pick your food at a service counter and it gets brought to your table. The food definitely isn't as good as the best nasi padang places and its relatively expensive. Having said that it's a satisfying meal nonetheless. Big saucey portions and old school flavours and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! My favourite dishes were the curry chicken and beef rendang. #sgfoodporn#rendezvousnasipadang#nasipadang#sgeats#sghawkerfood#hocklockkee#currychicken#beefrendang

🥥ONDEH ONDEH CAKE🥥 The last of the Ondeh Ondeh Series 🤤 Pandan Chiffon layers made with freshly-extracted Pandan Concentrate, filled with Pandan Swiss Meringue Buttercream and a Gula Melaka and Coconut filling 😭🤤🤤🤤 Made this cake quite a couple of months back for my mom and her friends and I can’t wait for another excuse to whip it up again :D Have a couple of improvements to make from the last time just to really bring out the Ondeh Ondeh flavour. Also, I’m really not keen on this decor :/ I was in a mad rush to book in that night if I recall correctly and this was the best I could do 🤷🏽♂️ Actually I think this was my first experience with Swiss Meringue Buttercream and I recall the massive panic I was going through when I thought my frosting had gone south. I’m just glad I left my mixer on and witnessed my curdled mixture magically transform into this silky smooth buttercream. Honestly, that panic never really goes away 😂 Every time I whip up a batch of SMBC, there’s a stage when I think to myself that it’s completely gone but it always turns out fine in the end. Super forgiving and not too difficult to do! That’s why SMBC is my somewhat go-to frosting 😉 Hope you guys have enjoyed this Ondeh Ondeh series!! Hit me up if you have any other ideas of how I could incorporate these flavours into something 😉 But for now, I think that’s enough Pandan, Coconut and Gula Melaka 😄

《麻辣天后锅》 had this at Vivo City Food Republic. Portion alot cost $19! Always Request for 小辣， but this branch as compared to the rest really not so spicy. Good for those who can't take chilli. Taste good too. They even have 小小辣 偶然不辣。But then again, 麻辣因该辣才好吃! #gnilrayfoodrepublicsg

Herbal chicken broth stewed for 4 hours with various Chinese herbs, dried scallop & cordycep flowers - tucked away through a secret door, this funky chinese speakeasy restaurant had crocodile penis and whole stewed crocodile claw on its menu which I’m not adventurous enough to try. Maybe next time
