Waiting for the summer 😊Cape by @bananarepublic, photo by @aiviolet ☺️
After chasing Karl the San Francisco fog for the last year since coming to the bay, I finally caught him. The clouds on the horizon were looking just right that afternoon, I was keeping a close watch on them, and then decided to take the chance and drive the hour on roads what I could practically reach out and touch with my fingers, lamenting my still unmanifest abilities to teleport. It's always a beautiful and surreal experience to drive in the thick fog and watch the beams of golden light penetrate and ignite with color the gray around you. I was getting nearer to the light, and after parking the car, and.. running up the hill... (Insert cosmic psychedelic crescendo here)
I have become addicted to these apotheotic moments when one touches divinity, and dances with, and holds firmly, if fleetingly, the transcendental and infinite. Diving headfirst into the familair and impossibly beautiful holy moment of a screaming silent mindgasm, each beat of the heart seemingly consciously dancing with the pulse of the world itself. My mind swells and pops like a balloon as I explode into a million kaleidoscopic shimmering fragments, each dancing it's own celestail waltz and singing to me it's serenade, like a sun-soaked siren, playing to me it's unmistakable and incomprehensible song of possible and impossible, past and present, real and unreal, Divine and earthly.
Like a catatonic with a screwdriver and a gaping third eye, standing in the cascade of light I dissolve into time and space.
And as I open my eyes and descend back to the experience which is my narrow scope and sense of the universe, I see this sight before me, the flow, mesmerizing and stupefying, flowing over the contours and topography of the beautiful earth and all it's life below, being shaped like a silk gently pulled over the curves of a Michelangelonian female form.
I think back to Rumi's words: 'Seek wisdom that will untie your knot. Seek the path that demands your whole being. The wound is where the light enters you. Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.'
So then I took this photo, and went to get some tacos.

Late this afternoon in the Outer Richmond: A ‘pagan’ restaurant, the top of a Russian Orthodox cathedral, and a Catholic Church off in the distance (at the University of San Francisco campus)...all under a weird, grayish/purple murky sky. ⛪️🕌
I am really trying to get back to doing much more photography of San Francisco ‘neighborhoody’ stuff - capturing random views of the City that may not be as iconic and recognizable. I know that they aren’t as ‘popular’ but it has always kinda been my thing, though most of the time I don’t post those type of shots.
Plus with all this Instagram stuff, I found that often times I would post things that I believed others wanted to see, while not always posting the images that I was excited to take at the time at times, that I took them. It has really been a struggle for me - albeit one that is both unnecessary and ridiculous
Needless to say, it was nice to get out there today and get back into the swing of things.
Happy Monday, everyone! 😁👋🏽
Get your hands on some tasty appetizers next time you're in, like our famous fresh spring rolls. 🍽️ Osha Thai
📍 4 Embarcadero Ctr, San Francisco 🥢 Osha fresh spring rolls- cilantro, lettuce, carrot, mint, tofu, wrapped in rice noodle with sweet & sour peanut dipping sauce
Another day, another colorful home in the Mission District. 🏡🎨
I spotted this house this morning while I was en route to the Ferry Building. I was especially excited to take this photo because there were no cars parked in front of the house - I never see it empty, not to mention there was light. But by the time I quickly parked (blocking someone’s driveway) and jumped out of my car with my camera, someone had already parked in front - hence the higher crop. 🤦🏻♂️😂
I hope that you had a very nice day! 😁
Happy Thursday, everyone! 😁
Today I visited two neighborhoods that I rarely go to: Dogpatch (for breakfast), and then Duboce Triangle just to walk around and take photos. I snapped this photo of Victorians from the late-1890’s a block away from Duboce Park. 🏡🏡🏡
