Happy birthday to my wonderful mama! So happy we got to celebrate this one together, on Father’s Day of all days. I can feel my dad’s energy here and feel truly lucky to have been raised by two incredible humans. 💓 #sequoianationalpark
I woke up like this :: a few weeks ago but still— still, yes, stillness.
The ground blanketed in what could only be described as: tiny earthling travel pods. So I walk carefully, to not disturb the inhabitants. Imagining if they find me unfriendly, a saw-toothed defense system gripping my ankle...so I walk with tender feet, careful to navigate around the dew laden weavings connecting each pod. It seems Spider and this particular type of Earthling are working together in this morning endeavor: Spider gets small unsuspecting bugs swooping in for a morning drink—and Earthling gets the big game— but only if I trip over a web. So I’m careful not to disturb the hours and hours of night work it took to create this extraordinary landscape. ✨🌲🕸✨ #outdoors#walk#soft#imagination
This is how it feels to reach the top of the falls after two hours of hike through the rocky terrain and slippery streams. I have had few visits here but never tried trailing the falls, the sight was such wonder to behold! #sequoianationalpark
#bonnefetepapa#fetedesperes#albumphoto#roadtripenfamille#sequoianationalpark

Visiting these giant beauties has been on my wishlist for sometime. #bigwood did NOT disappoint.
As stoked as I was to get this picture in many ways it sort of broke my heart. We saw the bears again heading straight toward the parking lot we were leaving. As we quietly debated warning the families enjoying picnics, Momma bear realized the commotion and headed the other way toward safety for her cubs. Behind my camera when I snapped this picture was a crowd of people in silent awe, but a few ran forward for selfies with camera phones, and to be honest I couldn’t help but scold them. I’m so stoked to see people explore national parks and wild places, but we must remember to give animals the space they need and deserve. I wonder how many animals have never encountered a human, and worry about these cubs growing in such proximity perhaps thinking of their home as trafficked roadways and full garbages rather then lush green forests.
