I was in the gym yesterday morning with my trainer. He was talking to another man during our training session and they were talking about travel. The other man, let’s call him Jim is probably in his late 60’s and was telling my trainer, let’s call him David, that he was going to return to Jamaica for the 15th year this year with his wife around the Thanksgiving holiday. He said it never gets old for him, I learned Jim is Italian and loves sunshine, palm trees and will take both and a rum punch over a 10-hour flight back to his home country of Italy anyday. •
Now maybe I wasn’t working out hard enough or my love for travel is too great, maybe both, but I could tell that David, had never been to Italy and already deemed it too far because of Jim’s comments. I was literally witnessing Jim project his fears and preferences on to David. I had to butt in and let David know that “it’s not that bad”, “it’s worth it”, “if you fly with the right airline you’ll be fine”, etc, etc, etc. I had to let him know I was speaking from experience and give him a counter perspective. •
Our thoughts and beliefs are powerful and they can be limiting if we let them. I’m pretty sure David had made up in his mind that Italy is just out of his reach. I find that funny because he pushes people to go beyond their reach everyday for a living. However, he has already allowed Jim to draw a boundary for him that played into his fears. We all need stop letting other draw boundaries for us based on their fears, needs, and wants. Don’t allow another’s fear to limit your life, stop living someone else’s version of your life and please, stop living like you get to do this again because well, you know we don’t. // #travellewell#letstravellewell

In awe. And deep thought. I’ve been playing a lot of @Maxwell lately, especially “Pretty Wings”. I started shout-singing, “I had to leave, I have to live/ I had to lead, I had to live” at the top of my lungs. Dude in the red, Balinese, glanced over, but was unbothered. I got the feeling it wasn’t the first time he heard someone do that. I mean, it’s Bali, which is almost freakishly spiritual. And like, we’re at a temple/sacred ground. Things come up. Make of that what you will. #seesomeBALI#seesomeworld

I go for a walk (almost) every morning when I travel, mostly to get the lay of the land, watch the city wake up and set my intentions for the day, but also because I went on this Soul Train Cruise once and everyone was, like, 70 and all the people who look/move like I will want to when I am “seasoned”, exercise in the morning. Great habit. #seesomeBALI#seesomeworld
Over the years I’ve heard so many of my friends rave about Paris, but I’ve never heard anyone mention the sky. It’s absolutely gorgeous. This is @chateauversailles at sunset. All on the same day as my previous two pics. There are so many great things about Paris, but looking up to this natural beauty was one of my favorites.
🚆😴 overnight sleeper train between bangkok & chiang mai was...interesting. glad to have tried out the [12 hour] experience. also glad to go back to the short 1-hour flights between these 2 locations. lol. one and done.
this sunset in Punta de Mita though 😍🌴 the sun always sets in the west ☀️🕶 in case you’re ever lost 😂
I’m running away from things that don’t serve me like bitterness, envy, judgements & chaos because I made a choice to run into things that I truly deserve like loving myself, trust & hope, healing & peace!
Y’all know while i was on vacay i had to show my girl boss some love 💜
@shopemmalynlove@emmalynlove_ thank you my LIB 🇱🇷 jue for this two piece beauty!
Fun fact: I really wanted to ride a bicycle while i was in Tulum so i went outside, & set up my camera on my tripod, while i was having a ball it started to rain so hard, but with fake grace while i was running I still got a great shot! 💛 📸
All the feels🤗

Gonna miss this view. Changed cities. Ubud —> Seminyak and Canggu. It’s shopping like SoHo, design aesthetic is Williamsburg, stunting like Atlanta, bodies like LA and partying like Vegas... except with actual beaches. Different vibe, but I like it despite Canggu being noticeably un-colored and gentrified AF. Went to breakfast today, packed, I was the only “of color” person not working there of maybe 100+ people. White-white. No Asian folk either. • Had an awesome driver today on the way back from a temple who explained that while most of the trendy stores/spaces/hotels are owned by non-brown folks (lot of Australians), the LAND is LEASED from Indonesians. Government doesn’t allow foreigners to own land here. #seesomeBALI#seesomeworld
Over time, Baecation has become the number one seller, beating out Swoon.
There's no elaborate story with this one. Except that it's tropical and has amazing notes of mango, peach, orange, amber, and apple.
It makes you reminisce on your last vacation to your favorite island or dream of that place you've always wanted to go. Maybe you're already planning that trip.
While girls trips are always a blast, there's something about traveling the globe with Bae.
P.s. if you are planning a vacation or baecation, please share where you're going. Or where you would like to go.

Post visiting Dakshinkali Temple 🕌 (one of the most famous temples in Nepal) for the beginning of The Dashain Festival. This temple is dedicated to Kali, the fearful form of Lord Shiva’s wife.Dakshin means south and Kali comes from the Hindu goddess. The Dashain Festival is THE largest celebration for Hindhus and Buddhists, it is a total 15 day event! Respects are paid to a great conquest of the gods over the demons.
It is a joyful occasion of reunification, blessings and gift giving.People living far away from their homeland, return to Nepal each year to be with their families. It is common practice during this time to invite guests into the home, decorate and thoroughly clean homes. They organize grand feasts and travel to visit relatives in other cities.
Although the religious aspects of the festival are most prominent, they have many ways to celebrate.Dashain is associated with buying new clothes. This serves as an important time for most, who live below poverty lines. It may be the only time of the year when they can indulge in this.Other forms of celebration are: consumption of alcohol,music/ceremonial dancing, playing cards, kite flying , constructure of gigantic swings.
Thousands of animals including buffalo, chickens, sheep, and goats are sacrificed each year.Blood, symbolic for fertility, is offered to the Goddesses. This has lead to major controversy in recent years as animal activists call to stop the animal cruelty. They argue that religious texts and historical literature do not provide evidence that supports animal sacrifices appeasing the gods/goddesses. In substitution they suggest offerings of fruits such as coconut🥥 & pumpkins🎃 (grown & harvested widely all over Nepal) and or veggies.

the mango sticky rice was the dessert/favorite, but we actually spent a a day at @thaifarmcookingschool learning about traditional thai ingredients, food, and recipes. the cooking was so fun & healthy! tons of flavor.
our instructor’s name was gift, and she was just that...super friendly & funny & knowledgeable. she was patient with us while we pounded our curry pastes, giggled/sniffled through our over-spicing, and asked a bunch of questions. everything was DELICIOUS. 😋
you get a recipe book to take home so you can recreate what you learned. highly recommend if you find yourself in chiang mai during thailand travels.

On this day 4 years ago I was half way around the world exploring Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China.
Thank you iPhone for reminding me how fortunate I am to travel to such far far away places. Thank you God for allowing me to have these amazing experiences.
FOUNDER TRAVELS // @arvemaree / Is there a place to where you have travelled and you feel like you need a do-over? For me, that’s Paris. 48 hours was all I had in the city of love. We did A LOT in those 48 hours when I stop to think about it. We hit the major tourist spots, saw the Eiffel (up close and from my hotel room), glimpsed the Mona Lisa in the Louvre, hit up the gardens in the Palace of Versailles, placed a lock on the famous “love lock bridge” (for my mom, Momma I love you) but I still feel like I was just passing through. Perhaps because that’s exactly what I did. I did things to check them off “the list” but I honestly didn’t bother to really research what I should do, where I should eat, and what I should not leave without experiencing. I basically showed up like hey Paris, show me what you got… like I don’t know that no city owes me anything, not a good time and not one single memory. Luckily, I was with friends who would make sure I made the most of 48 hours I had thanks to a @norwegianair flight deal. I’m not one to revisit many places because there’s SO much world I want to see, but I might just have to give Paris the do-over it deserves. If you had 48-hours in Paris, what would you do? Any tips or must-dos for my Paris do-over? Comment and let me know // #travellewell#letstravellewell

Throwbyke. Yachty by nature in 🇬🇷. This time, last year, I was coming back off a week of yachting over the Aegean Sea. I really need a vacation 😩.

Lawd! Bless me with a vacation real soon. Baby girl is TIRED. Until I find some time to take a vacation, I'll take a trip down memory land on this #TBT. This is me living my best life in Krabi. What are your vacation plans for 2019? Where should I go next?
