Mercy Johnson-Okojie buries her mother (photos)
Actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, has reportedly buried her mother amidst tears, weeks after she announced her death.
The actress’ husband, Prince Odi-Okojie shared photos of them in their mourning clothes as he thanked those who came to support them during the funeral ceremony and their period of mourning.
It all came to an end yesterday, thanks to everyone who stood by us in prayers during this trying time. @mercyjohnsonokojie and I appreciate you all.
Thank you and God bless.
The seasoned actress who is currently the Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Arts and Culture to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, broke the sad news of her mother’s death on her Instagram page few weeks ago.
She politely pleaded that the public grant her and her family privacy as they grief the loss of her mother, as she also begged for prayers to bear the untimely loss.
It deeply saddens me to say that my beloved mother is gone. This is a trying time for my family and we would appreciate your prayers, even as we plead for our privacy at this time. Thank you.

Someone asked me to post what I use to make vegan food "taste good" so here are a few of my staples. *A Few* from left ..
Tamari Sauce- gluten free soy sauce alternative. Fermented soy beans. Thicker and less salty than normal soy sauce.
Thai Sweet Chili Sauce- a sweet, tangy sauce made from sugar, pickled red chillies, vinegar, garlic.
Vegetarian Stir Fry Sauce- also GF. Mine is shitake mushroom.
Coconut Aminos- soy sauce alternative. Made from coconut sap and salt.
Sesame Oil- made from toasted sesame seeds. Gives food a distinct taste.
Nutritional Yeast- vegan cheese alternative. A deactivated yeast usually sold in powder or flake form.
Chili Garlic Sauce- similar to sirracha without the sugar. Thick spicy sauce that gives a kick.
Spices- garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, Cajun seasoning, crushed red pepper, pink Himalayan salt (only salt I use), everyday seasoning (from Trader Joe's)
Avocado Oil- best oil used for cooking. Has no flavor, a very high smoke point so it will not be disturbed or release chemicals at high temps (as coconut oil does, etc). The most health conscious oil for human consumption. (I've transitioned to only using avo oil in my kitchen)
TASTE MATTERS. Being Vegan or changing the way you eat doesn't mean sacrificing flavor! I hope this helps some of you to try out new ways to make things taste divine 💛 •
