I’m a firm believer in writing things down because truth be told, I’m a bit forgetful these days. Just ask all the post-it notes in my desk 😂
As part of setting intentions for 2019, I’ve written down a specific list of goals for the year in hopes of pushing myself to get where I want to be. I’m sharing my top 5 below.
Goal 1: Practice what I preach. It seems simple enough but on social media, it’s easy to get caught up in the “shine” of things—forgetting reality and things that exist in the real world. My goal is to carry what I share on here into my daily life, each and every day.
Goal 2: Attend at least one in-person design event or conference. I am constantly striving to learn more and stay educated about the latest design trends and technologies. Living in LA means I have some great opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and I want to take advantage of that. The introvert in me says NO but the boss in me says YES.
Goal 3: Read more books. Yes, books. I have always loved reading but the last few years I have seriously slacked off in that department. After grad school I promised myself I would start reading more, and this year I’m determined to get back into it. I’m currently making a list, so send me your recommendations!
Goal 4: Net at least 50k. I know, I know. Money isn’t something we are typically encouraged to discuss publicly, and most people prefer to keep those details private. I’m not most people. My goal is to net at least 50k this year and I believe in speaking things into existence.
Goal 5: Spend less time at the computer. It seems contradictory to want to do well in my business while also being away from the primary source of it. But with streamlined processes, planning ahead, and utilizing the tools available to me, I know it’s possible.
So there you have it. My top 5 goals for 2019! It’s kind of scary but I’m excited to push myself and I look forward to crossing them all off ✔️
Next week I’ll be sharing my first resource of the year with my email subscribers so if you’re all about setting goals with me in 2019, be sure to sign up!

It’s a busy day as an entrepreneur- a mixture of learning, connecting with some of my favourite business owners and family time.
What are you up to today?
HEALING is allowing yourself to dream and to take action on those desires deep within.
It is within your reach to have what you want.
There is MAGIC in your thoughts, your feelings that allows in what it is you desire

We’ve got a new story to write. And it looks nothing like your past 💕
“How do you work from home? Isn’t it distracting?” Well, yes! But a few things I’ve learned to make it better are this - 1. Turning off my phone when I need to focus. 2. Writing down all the things that pop in my head quickly and getting right back to work. 3. Shutting my office door and ignoring the mess that’s sometimes outside. Its not easy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! 💕

Home, sweet, home, but I’m missing my other half. Kyle stayed for the March, but I had plans with Katie to see Misty Copeland at the ballet and flew home early this morning. I really love exploring Washington, DC, even the buildings make me so emotional thinking about the history of our country.
Let's talk about stretch marks and business, shall we?! Mine are all over my booty and appeared when I was pregnant with my cute baby.
She's a toddler now, but they are still there. That's kind of the point.
The stretch marks happened because I was growing. I was growing a human at that point and I needed some room to grow.
This is really turning out to be an even better analogy that I expected!! Oooo!
The point is that the stretch marks aren't a bad thing. They show me where I've been. They show me what an amazing thing that I did. They show me the person who I've become because I can see where I was.
In business we have stretch marks too.
Were you stretched a lot by an experience, something scary or exciting?
Is there something that happened that you don't feel proud of?
Hiii!! I'm raising my hand on both of those things.
How about did you choose one perspective and then switch that shit up once you chose to step more into who you are. Hi! Me too.
That's the whole point of growth.
There are likely going to be things left over -- emotions, posts, videos, memories that remind you of the amazing, beautiful, frustrating, emotional times. All the emotions!! Am I right?!! I am. 😉
So I don't look at the left over stuff from my past years in business or my life or my baby carrying times as something to feel awkward about or bad about.
It took me a minute to get here. I used to feel that way -- then I was like Fuck it. This is ME. This is my journey. All of it. All of me. Take it or leave it.
I look at the experience as a reason to be proud. I did that. I made that!
I grew. I changed my life.
So mama or not, stretch marks or not, ups and downs or not.
You're doing this.
This is your journey.
Be proud of it.
See the good in it.
You're a beast, bitch. (had to slip that in for added oomph)
and no one else could have taken that path with as much grace or power as you.
*wink* Love, Me.

TIP #4: TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS: Being informed is great but Stephanie Roberts, co-owner of Cosmopolitan Kids, reminds aspiring entrepreneurs that sometimes you need to trust your instincts. “If we knew what it would take, we wouldn’t have done it...I think a lot of times people stop listening to themselves.” It’s important to be informed and make good decisions but also take chances. DON'T OVERTHINK EVERYTHING. ⠀

One of my favorite parts about traveling is how inspiring and reflective it could be. During a past trip to Jamaica I was reminded of how one decision really helped change the trajectory of my life.
So often we can make the mistake of waiting for things to happen when in reality God, the Universe, our circumstances are waiting on us to make that one decision to create the change we desire. .
My challenge to you this evening is to determine what is that one decision you have yet to make. Then ask yourself what has been holding you back from it? When you determine the answers to these questions, create a strategy on how you intend to overcome it. .
They say that the best way to conquer fear is with a plan, and what better time to plan than in the first quarter of a new year. We are only a few weeks in so there’s still time to maximize this moment. The best way to love the life you live is to create it. #thetimeisnow#itstartswithadecision#fbf

Our intention this year? We are focusing ALOT more on our own professional development so we can keep delivering amazing results for our clients.
We love this from @thedigitalpicnic, and are so inspired by TDP and what they achieve... so we have signed up to their 12 week SMM course!
What intentions do you have for your business this year?
A goal? Well, it's nothing without an intention.

These two are officially featured on the blog! We traveled to Mount Lemmon to celebrate Katie and Nancy’s pregnancy journey and the outpour of love they have for one another was SO refreshing to behold. They’ve overcome an abundance of obstacles for their little one (including surgeries, needles, pills and checkups), so there was nothing better than capturing them literally feeling on top of the world. 😌
Head over to the link in my bio to see all their stunning maternity portraits! 💛
I have one of those laughs that take over your entire face...you know, those scrunched-up, eyes-disappear, throw-your-head-back-laughing kinda faces. 😂😁 Having such an expressive face used to be something that bothered me...but now!? Days like today I’m like bring on ALL the HAPPY because we just hit 2K!!! 😍🎉🎈☀️
And the thing about our insecurities? The older I get the more I realize how beautiful our uniqueness really is!! 😘 So next time you look in the mirror and start zeroing in on that one thing...remember THIS:
That thing you reeeally hate about yourself? It’s probably someone else’s FAVORITE thing about you! 😍 So embrace your body, love your skin, and choose the happy...every single day. ❤️ ✨
Thank you guys for celebrating with me!!! 😍
