Everybody has their own special memory of "Aretha Franklin" depending on which era you were born in. The fondest memory I have of "Aretha" was when the famous opera singer "Pavarotti," who was scheduled to sing the big finale performance at the 1998 Grammys, became very ill at the last minute and Aretha Franklin, "Queen of Soul," was asked if she would step in and perform the opera song "Nessun Dorma." She agreed. First and foremost, that takes guts! I remember thinking to myself, "This is not going to go well." She got up and started singing in a tone that I had never heard from her in my life. She went from super low to super high in range and frankly, she took my breath away. The Grammys were live and I remember crying my eyes out and standing up to clap with the audience even though I was in my own home. She blew the roof off of the place. Everyone exploded. This is a true professional vocalist. She was more than the "Queen of Soul," she was the "Queen of Music." You will be missed and never duplicated. Goodnight Queen Aretha.... ❤♪♫❤ #ArethaFranklin#Queen#RIP#Pavarotti#grammys#savedtheday#finale#soul#opera#legend#artist#losangeles#music#musica#star#goodnight#boanoite#sad#love#picoftheday#beauty#beautiful#woman#death#life#special#singer#musician#voice#vocalist

When I did my first #Whole30 in 2014, there weren't as many on the go options as there are now. Today, I'm so grateful for them! Crazy day that ended at Costco, where I found out my debit card numbers had been stolen! Blocked card=panic mode=I wanted a Chick Fil A fountain Coke in the worst way! Got the card situation handled, checked out, and ate my emergency food on the way home. I'm so glad I stuck with it, because I know it's worth it!! #whole30#whole30day4#cravingfountaincokefromchickfila#iamwhole30#celiac#rxbar#chomps#savedtheday
This is my husband.
At 2am he woke me up in a panic about a Moth, that was in the kitchen. He said he could not enter the kitchen at all, I ignored him and attempted to sleep. I could then hear him messing about with the front door and going outside, rattling keys and huffing and puffing.
At 2.22am I saved the day and rescued him from the deadly moth. Whilst he waited outside in fear.
I’ll leave you to enjoy the messages... #manormouse#mothinvasion#savedtheday#rescue#youokhun#funnymessages#memes#memesdaily
@morrisons bracknell saves the day today big time. Blown away by their customer services. Having filled my trolley with lots of yummy food... Stressful with a 2.5year old in tow. We finally scanned all are items and went to pay when I discovered @metro_bank had blocked my card again due to sheer incompetence. So I had to abandon my shopping and get in the phone 45 mins later card is unblocked I return to @morrisons to find they had put all my shopping in a refrigerated area and as Frankie (my daughter) was extremely fed up by this point they opened up her very own check out where she scanned all the shopping! Happy Mummy and very happy toddler. Thank you @morrisons for making us both smile after @metro_bank made me a very stressed out Mummy.
Me and mom found a stay terrier on the road today! He was very wet and dirty, so we took him in the car and dried him with a towel. We called his owners and brought him home❤️ he gave us kisses and snuggles😍😍
The owners gave us chocolate and we were invited inside for coffee!
The card says "For the hero of the day! Thanks for savning our dog Malik"
Im so happy we found the lil guy❤️❤️❤️ #dog#stray#savingdogs#heisfinenow#hero#everydayhero#chocolate#happy#savedtheday
On Saturday when I realized my MacBook wasn't going to turn on, the pit in my stomach told me it would probably cost a lot to HOPEFULLY recover my data and then more to buy a new computer. All of my new designs for 2019 were in progress. Between Saturday and today I have spent over 3 hours working with with Sean in Dublin (Ireland...not Ohio) and Kyle from Sacramento. With the purchase of a new external harddrive they were able to help me recover my data, wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall my data and apps for a smooth running machine. What other company would take the time to work with a customer to that extent? I can't think of one. I am in awe of their customer service and wanted to shout out my thanks. Above and beyond at every level. The bottom line is that they actually cared about helping me. I will take their example and try to incorporate this "customer first and foremost" attitude in my company. Kudos to Apple! @apple#greatcustomerservice#thankyou#savedtheday
To us, the most important thing to bring home from this trip are experiences and stories. Today, we had a great experience, born out of a huge f**k up. By me! We ponied up in Obidos, dragging our bags, at the same time as a million coachloads of peeps on tours from Lisbon. We fought through the masses down the Main Street to get to our hotel and arrived (having missed it on the first pass) sweating madly. So, being told we had no reservations wasn’t the best reception. We produced our confirmation. Which was for next May 😳😳 Bugger! However Carina and Joel took us in hand, gave us water, found us another hotel (they were fully booked) and then put our bags on Joel’s tricycle and peddled them over town for us. So a potential horrible day has turned out great. So, a thousand ‘thank you’s’ to the Lov’in Book guesthouse for making the horror story into a great experience!
Well Wednesday didn't quite start how I'd planned... On the way to the #lightingbugswindon showroom I braked with a 10 litre tub of white paint in the boot of my car 🙈 I was a little stressed and upset when it happened... what was I going to do to fix this? what was my other half going to say? how was I going to fix this? And who could help?
Well I met a lovely gentleman at the Super marine football club, who gave me 2 mental plates to scoop as much out as possible and a bin bag... I never caught his name, but thank you! Even the bin man stopped to check if I was ok (as I might have been crying a little 😭) thank you too!
I then went home, got changed out of my work clothes (that were covered in paint!), and started Googling #swindon Valeting companies... this is when I came across the amazing Raife at DeepGlossDetailers... He was amazing!
He put everything on hold, classed my situation as an emergency, and met me at his unit 15 minutes later. He got to work straight away, he didn't make me feel any more stupid than I already did, and reassured me all would be ok. He was right, less than 48 hours after the "incident" you would never have know it had happened!
I can't thank Raife enough for his kindness, hard work and empathy in this situation, I would definitely recommend DeepGlossDetailers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This morning on the way to drop Kolton off we saw a cute short haired lab near an intersection. (of course I stopped). She had no collar on but she had pink painted toe nails so I knew she had a family. I was rushing already, but knew I had to do something and couldn’t leave her outside!
I brought her to my sister’s in hopes she could post on Facebook about the cute little bugger. Anyways, she wandered into the backyard and I had to go so I locked her in the backyard.
Luckily, on my way to work, a little boy was outside yelling. I stopped and asked if he was missing his dog. He said yes. The mom came out SUPERRRR confused. I told her that I picked up her dog because she was near the street and took her to my sister’s and gave her the address- (NO THANK YOU). I am glad that we found her owner because I probably would have kept her!!!! (LOL). Swipe to see the cutie pie!
