Congratulations to the class of 2018! It was great watching you guys celebrate this milestone. We shot some photos of the ceremony and field party. Check them out on our gallery at valenciavikingalumni.org
I used to crossfit and it was great till I realized that no matter how slow I took it to make sure form and all that was right, injuries kept reoccurring. I gained stamina, endurance and mental toughness through it and did things I didn't think I could ever do, so I'm grateful. It was fun, but it didn't translate to what I wanted and needed. I just felt so imbalanced when it came to 3D movement in all planes. I wanted to run better, I wanted to be able to move better as a human being. So I did my research and found @functionalpatterns. I spent hours and hours for months researching and learning more about it before coming to terms that there really is no right way to do a wrong thing. And since then I've noticed a change in the fitness industry and I'm all in for the ride. Thanks for this edit @nicholas.rocco
Regrann from @nicholas.rocco - George St. Pierre, one of the best MMA champions of all time. Doesn't believe in lifting weights or traditional strength and conditioning programs for athletic performance.
He's convinced lifting weights does not improve athletic performance and can cause injuries. He also states that athletes think the S&C programs make them better but it's actually the steriods that most athletes take.
He also says he lifts weights only for aesthetic reasons for his brand as a paid advertiser, not for functional athletic performance.
And goes on to explain how traditional weight lifting and S&C programs do not train you for the force vectors, timing, speed, precision and weight shifts needed for an effective strike.
Movement efficiency is key! Especially when the biorhyhms are oriented and sequenced around the gait cycle and throwing mechanics.
With @functionalpatterns you're able to load, train and replicate these functions without injury because it respects the way humans evolved to move!
