First ever Burger King in Mattoon, IL. We aren’t taking about the franchise here, no. This mom and pop burger joint opened in 1952. However, in 1961, the franchise opened with the same name. There is a well known court case between the two. Sadly, this place lost. Still today, they celebrate 66 years of business. Congratulations original ‘Burger King’! #livingtheclassclife ————————————————
Finding a great place to stay is always one of the biggest struggles when planning a trip. I love reading other people’s reviews and getting first hand advice so I know what I’m getting. That’s one of the reasons why I love getting to share with you the resorts that we recommend. I cannot wait to get our @hojoanaheim review on the blog this week because it was a huge HIT ✨ I’ll give you all the details soon, but we literally walked right over to Disneyland (a dream, right?) Have you ever been to Disneyland? Have you ever stayed here!?
One of our favorite places of all time: the YMCA @campsilvercreek in Oregon. This is a vintage (1980’s) shot, on a crappy little cartridge-film point and shoot. The lens always fogged up on me, but when I used my allowance to process the pictures, I loved how the foggy lens gave the dining hall this ethereal look. Love this place! 💜💜💜
"...On the south side of the Colorado River is the stunning and hidden Havasu Falls. To experience this beauty, you must first obtain a permit by making a reservation... The trail distance is 10 miles so this hike is not for the faint of heart. The swimming hole at the end, however, is one of America’s most treasured natural beauties." When we bought our RV in September of 2015, our boys were 4 yrs old and coined it “the home bus”. It has stuck forever. We bought the home bus so the whole family could travel together to my bike races. In 2016, we lived in it full-time as I trained and raced across the country • It was wonderful as well as challenging. It’s broken down twice on us, to the point where we had to be towed 💰 and when you live in your rig full-time that means you’re homeless when it has to go to the shop. We called on friends during that time, and several stepped up big time, some helping financially and others sharing their homes. One repair took a month due to parts being back ordered, and we lived out of two family’s houses (forever grateful 🙏 ) • Because we’d had so many problems with it that year, and because we opened a cycling 🚴 studio in Little Rock, we rented a small apartment downtown and only used the RV for traveling to races • However this past year, I realized that I really had fallen in love with the RV life despite its challenges. I liked the tiny home, the life on wheels mentality, and the ability to minimize things and GO anywhere • So we decided on this recent family vacation trip to the west coast and back (even though we still had our share of fixing ALL the things!), we are foregoing the apartment and moving back into the home bus full-time 🚎 In fact we just renovated it head to toe to feel like OUR home bus. More on that soon! But here’s our first pics of the reno before and after’s...my favorite, the kitchen ❤️ What do you guys think?

On quiet weekends, back when we lived in an apartment in San Francisco, I could drop our bedroom blinds and sleep in til 10. Several years and thousands of miles later, the faintest hint of the lightening sky has me out and in position to photograph the first light of the morning. ⠀
It is a brilliant but short-lived explosion of color. Yet, the colors linger in the back of my mind, tinting each view for the rest of the day.
GUYS. This has to be the most amazing freedom vessel I've seen in my whole life!!! 😍😍😍
