This past Saturday, the first Coasting for Kids event of 2019 was held at Busch Gardens Williamsburg (@buschgardensva). 🎢 ACE Cares was the #1 fundraising team with $7,718 raised, just over half of the nearly $15,000 raised from all teams. ACE member Clint Novak was the #1 fundraiser, collecting a whopping $2,000! 😍 In total, 85 people participated in the event, including a team from @premierridesinc. The day included admission to the park, light breakfast, 2 hours of ERT rotating through 5 (!) coasters, Quick Queue passes, and a behind-the-scenes coaster tour for those who raised $250 or more. 💰
After all of our traveling around on Saturday we were exhausted, but we still managed to get up early on Sunday for Tokyo Disneyland. This was so fun to experience with my friend Tess! She had never been to Disney before and hadn’t been on a roller coaster since she was really little. It was the most fun being able to see her reaction to all the amazing things Disney had to offer. Surprisingly, being at Disney again made me feel very much at home and a bit nostalgic. I’ve missed Florida so much and this is the closest thing to it I’ve found in Asia! Overall, God totally blessed this trip and I’m very grateful to have been able to experience it. Many great conversations were had and many prayers were said. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip! #Disney#disneyland#tokyodisneyland#tokyo#travel#fun#rollercoasters#magic
Defunct Coaster March
This was WINDJAMMER SURF RACERS at KNOTT’S BERRY FARM in Buena Park, CA, a set of TOGO looping wild mouses.
69 ft. tall (both)
40 mph (both)
1 inversion (vertical loop, both)
RED: 1851 ft. long
YELLOW: 1839 ft. long
Opened March 25, 1997 (wow, I didn’t realize that, happy birthday Windjammer Surf Racers!)
Closed March 2, 2000
Replaced by Xcelerator
To say the least, Windjammer Surf Racers sure was unique.
It was very similar to a Wild Mouse, with small trains and whippy transitions. But there were two, and they had loops.
Even though there were two parallel tracks, Windjammer Surf Racers rarely dueled.
It had a Southern California beach theme, and there were multiple props throughout the ride, such as a mini lifeguard tower.
Windjammer Surf Racers was absolutely plagued with issues. Weeks after its opening, new parts were already being bought. It would shut down with a slight breeze. Cedar Fair spent $2 million on fixing it, which caused them to file a lawsuit on TOGO.
They were seeking $17 million from TOGO because of their poor engineering skills, there was poor track and bad restraints. Knott’s even called the ride an embarrassment.
No one wanted to buy this ride from Knott’s, so Windjammer Surf Racers was closed in 2000.
As for TOGO, the lawsuit was never approved, but it still caused them to go bankrupt.
Man, what a failure!

Did you know that you can find The Darkroom at both universal and Disney? Hollywood studios has a similar facade that was inspired by the same building in Hollywood California. The original and the two theme park counterparts once allowed you to process film, now, none of them do.

Happy 3/25 Fury day!! Can’t wait to hop back on my favorite steel coaster this summer! When I went, I got a whopping 40 rides!! This is one of the prettiest and most photogenic coasters ever! Every angle looks great!
What’s the most photogenic coaster you’ve seen? Also, How many rides have you gotten on this beast?!
🛷 The oldest steel roller coaster is still one of the best attractions at Disneyland! Which seat on Matterhorn Bobsleds is your favorite: front, middle or back? ❄️ Video credit to LMG Videos!

Conte pra gente👊
