During Enduro camp I had a great opportunity to try something completely new. And that was a KTM 690 Enduro R with @laba_seven roadbook mounted on top. Frankly I had no idea how roadbooks work and how riders using it in races. All those signs on rolled papers were total mystery for me. But big thanks to @bubinas.lt for covering all the secrets step by step and showing that using @laba_seven roadbook is not a rocket science. Not to mention this guy has a solid rally raid experience and knows about roadbooks pretty much everything, so his real life advices were truly valuable.
What does it feel to ride with the roadbook for the first time? It's a completelly different experience than riding with GPS navigation. Your mind must be sharp to cope with all the parameters: roadbook, odometer, objects you are passing through and of course your bike and the terrain you are riding. One mistake, wrong turn and things can become really complicated. Especially when we are talking about navigation. But in the end of the day it is great adventure, that's for sure.
So, what makes Laba7 roadbook so special? If you are tight in budget or you are not sure if it's your thing to spend big money on, you can get entry level book and later upgrade it up to pro level. Because it is completely modular. If one of your roadbook parts is broken, they have spare parts too. Not to mention they give lifetime warranty for some of the parts. Ok, last but not least- KTM 690 Enduro R. Honestly I've never ridden such modern enduro motocycle before. It has all the advanced systems onboard: ABS, traction control, quickshifter for smooth clutchless shifting, you name it. 75hp engine talks with confidence and makes clear statement of ultimate rally raid machine. I was riding over 100 km/h and it felt that I'm only reaching half of its potential. Default suspension settings were a little bit harsh, but I guess that's not a problem, cause you can configure it depending your needs.
While concluding I must say I had a great adventure, completely new experience. Enduro experience...
