Walking past Fred 62 tonite, had to stop and snap this shot. So pretty, streets all shiny and glistening after another evening downpour. I was walking back home from the subway station. Recently experienced a pretty brutal car accident that’s left my poor car outta commission for a bit, so navigating the city via public transit... Guess you’ll be seeing more street photography from me and it’s def interesting to see the city from another perspective 🎶 The city feels clean this time of night. Just empty streets and me walking home. To clear my head 🎶 - Los Feliz, CA #fred62#losfeliz#walkingthecity#commuterlife#streetphotography#citystreets#rainydays #🚶🏽♂️

Was meint ihr?
The only thing shining today were my nails.❤️
I’ve been wanting to get a car wash for a while now but seems as if this rain likes to keep popping in. I don’t mind it though as long as the mountains and the tress are looking green. 🌳
The constant rain and never ending gray sky (for weeks and weeks) is taking a toll on me. I am unmotivated, tired, sad, and short-tempered more often lately. Tonight I was apologizing to Kate for being frustrated with her - explaining that the rain is wearing my patience thin. “Doesn’t it make you grumpy baby? All this rain is making Mama feel grumpy and sad. I am so sick of being stuck inside... and so sick of the rain!” 🌧 And then my brilliant girl responded... “No Mama... I’m not grumpy. I love flowers... so I love the rain!” 🌼
And she does friends. She does. When we got out of the car - arms full and struggling to avoid puddles and an incoming downpour - she gasped and giggled with glee. “LOOK MAMA! OUR FLOWERS!” she shouted with bright eyes. Watching her joy made me smile, and I stopped to snap a quick shot of the hyacinth (transplanted from my grandmother’s house) - forgetting for a moment about the fact that I was getting wet. I guess we have to put up with the rain and gray skies if we want to enjoy the beautiful flowers, huh? ☔️ My sweet “Namfon”... my little raindrop! Oh what insight she has at 6 years old! #namfon#myThaidarling#wisdomfromKate#mylittleraindrop#rain#rainydays#raindrops#flowers#hyacinth#backyardbeauty#1000gifts#beauty#bloom
It’s winter but these rainy gloomy, days remind me of autumn🍂.
Btw hello LOL!! I popped on for ONE reason and that’s to highlight something I think is really positive and amazing but to also highlight something else important. Kristen @dappledpages who is one of my favorite ppl messaged me on twitter and shared a @chicagotribune article that was written about bookstagram/mers in my hometown. I’ve added the link to my bio for you to read it. Another one of my favorite ppl was featured as well Megan @the_spines 🙌🏽 so well deserved. If you are not following both of them please do so!! The reason this article made me happy is because right before I left here booksta was experiencing what seemed to be some backlash. The recent Trib article was well written and the part that I loved the most was the part that said, “bookstagram [represents] what social media was intended to be.” It’s referring to the way we engage and interact with each other. I could not agree more!!!!
Kristen & I also discussed in our brief twitter chat the the lack of representation of ppl of color in this article which makes me think about the still overarching problem in the book blogging/publishing space in general. Note & to be fair, this is not a “I should’ve been featured post”. I’m not even here LOL...not taking pictures, no book blogging which was sporadic when I WAS here & I don’t get into that kind of head space in general🙏🏾. I am celebrating the feature while also noting the necessary. If the journalist would’ve dug a little deeper he could’ve included @amandajoywrites who’s been book blogging/bookstagramming for years & is also a published author and a few others.
Most of you know how I’ve used this space🙏🏾 In line w/ #blackhistorymonth I’m going to create a highlight with a TON of bookstagrammers, publishing houses, authors/poets of color etc. so that you have a place to go if you’re looking. If you know of any more PLEASE let me know & I will happily add them.
I hope that you all are happy and have peace & are living life. I TRULY miss you!!! 🖤 #bookstagram#rainydays#gloomy#cozy#windowsill#hygge#warm#filmphotography#bookblogger#candles#myroom#mybedroom
