It’s very remiss of me not to have updated Rook’s account for so long. Unfortunately at the end of January he lost his fight with an illness, despite extensive tests and treatment with an excellent Avian vet. We thought we’d beaten an infection with antibiotics but devastatingly what we can only assume from tests after he passed away is that he was weakened and an underlying condition claimed his life. His life was all too short at 1 year and 4 months but it was filled with fun, love and laughter - so whilst I miss him terribly, I am thankful at least for that. He leaves an indelible mark on the lives he touched (both in real life and virtually), and a literal one on my shoulder alongside another former bird Lloyd, my cockatiel.
So I’m afraid it’s unlikely that Rook’s #instagram account will live on either - but thank you all for getting involved whilst it did! Alan and ~Rook 🐦
Our lovebirds @daffynpenguin favorite toy, the Foraging Pineapple (Medium sized)
👉🏻 Swipe for a video of them playing 👉🏻
The Foraging Pineapple is probably one of the top toys ever because it is SO chunky, durable and super fun for birds! PLUS there are so many crevices that you can stuff small sprigs of millet, seeds and nuts to encourage your birds to forage for goodies.
Made from palm leaf and abaca, natural materials that your birds will encounter in the wild too!
The Foraging Pineapple will be restocked soon in a super amazing toy pack, PM us if you’d like to get updated when it does! 😉
Been working on harness training lately. He also almost gets his head throught the head hole of the harness so we are pretty close to the win :)) If you have tips please leave them in the comments, everything is helpful 🤩
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! 🥰 This year’s couple of the year is Bailey and Toffee! (They all put on a bit of weight at the bird Hotel LOLOL) As y’all may know, their relationship has been lots of ups and downs over the last few months and it got so bad that we had to separate them for a while. But recently they have been getting along quite well playing together and even chilling close to each other!! They even return to the same cage to sleep when the day ends now 💛💙 We are still keeping our fingers crossed that they’ll bond when Toffee gets older!
