If you’re new here, my name is Kelly. And this is Jakey Foo. Better known to his friends and followers as the Foo. He is the reason for so many wonderful things in my life, and my heart is fuller and I am better for having been chosen to be his mom for a priceless 11.5 years.
What started out as my walking him out of a #puppymill when he was just 8 weeks old could never in my wildest imagination have turned out the way it did. A bond ensued that I never expected. It was unconditional in its purest form. A love that some won’t ever have a chance to experience, which makes me sad. For this love showed me compassion, patience (if you have a bulldog, you know what I mean), tolerance (mostly to the people who’d say things like he’s so ugly he’s cute), and love in its deepest form.
The Foo taught me some of the greatest lessons in this lifetime and for this I will be forever grateful. In January 2015 we had to say so long for now, and it was the single most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do. But it deepened my faith even more in those following days, weeks and months. Because I knew, I mean I really felt, that the Foo was still with me. Just in a different way. I felt his presence with me and within me. And I know he was with me every step of the way when I decided to launch My Dog Foo in his honor.
The holidays have often turned into a time of gift giving and parties and we get so busy that we often forget the true meaning of the season. I am deeply grateful to all of you who follow us and have supported My Dog Foo. Mere words could not adequately express the deep sense of appreciation I have for each and every one of you. My heart sings with joy when you reach out and tell us how our products have helped your dog, or how our commitment to raising awareness about Pemphigus (Jake’s condition) helped you get a proper diagnosis for your dog.
We wish you all the very brightest and happiest of holidays. Thank you for being a #foobie and for becoming part of our pack 👍🏻And don’t miss our 12 Days of Xmas Sale going on right now 🌲 Link in bio ⬆️

"Adopt, Don't Shop"
According to the humane society of central Texas, approximately 7.6 million companian animals are put in a shelter every year. Only 2.7 million are adopted each year. The same number (2.7 million) are euthanized per year. Strays comprise double the amount of animals relinquished by their owners in shelters. There is an estimated 10,000 puppy mills in the US. These mills put profit over health when it comes to breeding dogs. The dogs live in filthy conditions. The mothers are bred every heat cycle and usually killed when they can no longer reproduce and not typically humanely. Puppies are taken too early from their mothers and can develop health issues. A puppy mill's main benefactor is pet stores. The regulations on puppy mills are minimal. Until pet stores offer pets for adoption instead of selling mill-bred pets, I cannot support them, and have created this artwork to persuade you not to as well. The homelessness problem of these millions of strays will not be solved by monetarily supporting puppy mills through pet stores. It is much cheaper to adopt from a shelter and you are supporting a much better cause. You are saving the life of an animal who wants a home. The mother of the cute puppy you are looking at in the pet store could very well be jammed into a small cage being forced to reproduce until her death. Research puppy mills. Their truth is horrifying.
Please. Adopt, don't shop.

I like lying in the snow ❄️ Relaxing before rehab today, where I’ll be working on a new little project!
SWIPE! This is the male #Megabuiltbullies has used for multiple breedings ! Including the exorcist !!! This male just died and apparently it’s bc he escaped from his crate and went after females in heat . That’s what killed him . They didn’t say how he died . What killed him . Not sure if this is a breeder trying to hide facts . Interesting how #Megabuiltbullies didn’t post about this loss ... the loss of their pups Dad .
Do your research!!!! This is a thing with Megabuiltbullies. I haven’t seen a legit breeding yet ! It’s all a fad with them . Bigger dogs , Merle blood . They breed to dogs that aren’t full bully ! Stop buying from this puppy mill ! Go to their website! They can’t keep up with their breedings !!!! They don’t even update it anymore bc they breed dog after Dog !!!! Shady !!! Look at their site!!! Proof is in the pudding! I’m not a hater I’m a realist!!! #puppymill#sickpuppies#badbreeding#badpeople#help#mbb#liars#megabuiltbullies#sickdogs#dogsofinstagram#puppiesofinstagram#bully#bullypitbull#xlbully
The #view with my #morningcoffee 🥰 🐕🐕
These two didn't really care for each other a few weeks ago but now seem to have become quite the #snugglebuddy 's
#Bella's Story (on left) is a #chiuahua#italiangreyhound cross who came from a #rescuegroup on the West Coast that brought her to Canada after being rescued from the streets of Mexico. .
She was such a scared, timid little thing when she first arrived and would cower and pee just making eye contact with her...it has been so heartwarming to see her confidence soar in the last few years and watching her play full out chasing stuffies is a thing of beauty🥰
And omg she is all about the love and her little tail wags nonstop😍 .
#Sid 's story
My beautiful senior guy Sid is a purebred #italiangreyhound (some of my #dogfriends would debate his authenticity😉) who showed up in my life over 10 years ago and was an owner surrender...his history is a little sketchy, but what I have pieced together was that he was originally purchased from a pet store that may have acquired him from a #puppymill
he was rehomed twice before I found him, or I should say was alerted to his Kijiji ad by my fellow dog loving friend Kelli @doodledog (my thanks forever)
I have always rescued and or adopted dogs and feel the love and gratitude given back by a #rescueddog changes our lives immeasurably...there is just something uniquely wonderful about bringing rescued doggie into your life. 😍😍😍😘🥰🥰
All over Instagram I see so many rescue groups overflowing with deserving doggies waiting for their forever homes, just breaks my heart.. the need is sooooo great.
Please consider adopting a dog and saving a life🥰 #adoptdontshop
Happy #friday everyone
Anyone that knows me knows my love for boxers. We have had 4 total. Karlie Jane our newest adoption (1st picture) Each has a special place in my heart. Doyle has had 3 boxer siblings. He has seen two of his siblings cross over. We have watched 2 of our boxers age. Watching a dog age is really hard. I carried Katie Hahn (3rd picture) everywhere her last month of life. She could not hold her pee and had to wear diapers. Lucy Hahn (2nd pic) who was our very first boxer took 24 pills a day for over a year. She would collapse when her heart was acting up. I thought we lost her 3 or 4 times but she would always fight her way back. I would not change it for anything. My point in sharing this with you is for two reasons. If you are not ready to be there for your dog through it all DO NOT GET ONE! A puppy is cute BUT it ages and senior dogs are awesome and still need all the love! My second point is, If you plan on getting a dog this holiday season please know where the parents live. If you get your dog online OR a pet store your dog is coming from a puppy mill. Our Katie was one of those moms who had a terrible life until we rescued her from @adoptaboxerrescue. You need to see where the parents LIVE! There are many full breed rescues out there. There are many mix breed dogs in shelter. I am not saying do not use a breeder if that is your choice BUT you need to see the place. Do your homework! Do not take the word of the person you’re speaking to on the phone or online! We need to be the voice for these dogs! If people stop buying dogs online and from pet stores puppy mills will go out of business! Please share this post and spread the word! We need to be better for our dogs!!
After making the trip from Ohio to Buffalo NY, Rey is placed with her foster family from Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue. She is incredibly shy, nervous, and cautious, but still the most gentle soul. Love this photo of her with the smallest member of her foster family!
*Help me shut this guy down! Please share as much as possible so everyone can be aware of this horrible scam! *
I purchased this sweet little girl from a person I thought was a good breeder. He seemed extremely nice via text and our phone conversations so it was easy for me to trust him. He had a two week life guarantee and a purchase agreement, he told me how to feed her and that if I needed anything (vaccines or otherwise) that he would help me treat her. In less than 12 hours of purchase, sweet Maia became sick. Vet confirmed that not only did she have parvo, but she also had chronic diarrhea since before my purchase of her (she did not have hair on her tail) The vet prescribed antibiotics, rebound and some anti-nausea medications. She seemed to improve but then took a turn for the worse yesterday. I took her back to the vet where they gave her fluids and a vitamin shot. I kept her snuggled with me all afternoon. And was able to hold her one more time before she passed in the early hours of the morning. I contacted the breeder who said I could get a “replacement puppy” for an additional $200. I would not be allowed to touch the puppy but I could see them and then pick one out, pay him and then take my puppy home. Basically, he didn’t want me to get a good look at what I was getting. No refund will be given for the loss of a puppy that I had less than 72 hours. A puppy that was diagnosed with parvo 15 hours after purchase. Who the vet confirmed was sick even before my purchase.
I have since found out that this breeder has 5 different breeds currently for sale. Since parvo is highly contagious, most of these puppies are likely extremely sick, finding homes just like mine with little children who will become broken hearted at the loss of their new loved one and other animals that are now exposed to a deadly sickness.
I want to bring this guy to justice. No family deserves to go through this experience and no puppy deserves to live their life without the proper care and love. #puppymill#justice # justiceformaia #stoptheabuseofanimals#poorpuppy#share#aspca#humanesociety
OAKVILLE, ON: Meet super SADIE! She is our #wcw this week. She is 11 years of Shihtzu cuteness!! This little darling was a puppy mill survivor who has been owned by two separate owners both of whom have passed away - so here she is once again looking for a family to love. Sadie is blind most likely from dietary deficiencies during life in a mill - there is no magic surgery to cure this and she requires eye drops twice daily but otherwise she is fine and her amazing foster parents are certain that she sees shadows. Sadie likes the company of the dogs on her foster home and seems to have taken to their cat. This little girl just wants to be loved - a little nervous and timid - no families with children under 15. If you would like to know more about Sadie please reach out to [email protected] or to see more of their adoptable animals check out their Instagram @thedogrescuersinc .

This is why doing your research and asking questions is so important. This puppy-miller needs to be stopped.
If you are looking for a puppy, go to the Great Dane Club of America's website and look up some breeders. Google a Great Dane Club near you, they have breeder referrals and can help point you in the right direction.
**Introducing 5 year old Elsa**.
Isn’t she a cutie? We thought so too. We received this picture after a surrender call with the owner having said that due to a relationship breakdown, move and no time for her, Elsa needed rehoming.
Our foster team found a suitable home, and off they went to collect this little lady.
Swipe to see her true self: clearly been used for over-breeding, skin issues so bad she’s red raw and generally in a very sorrow state.
We’re a charity, run by volunteers. We never judge as we always prefer dogs to end up in our care than anywhere else. But tell us the truth.
No applications yet, Elsa is recovering and receiving loads of TLC.
If puppy farming is wrong, then what is this?
Take moment to feel this, see this and imagine this.....imagine being her.

Hi frens! Last week in Iowa (USA) a Samoyed “puppy mill” under investigation for months was finally shut down last week and nearly 170 Samoyeds were rescued from appalling conditions. The @aspca, at the request of the local sheriff’s office, assisted with evidence collection and sheltering of the dogs. The Humane Society of North Iowa is also assisting and accepting donations to help with costs incurred for rescue operations. If you are able, please consider a donation. You can find them at @humanesocietyofnorthiowa. You can also visit @aspca for more info and to donate there too. .
I will also be donating 50% of the proceeds from my online store (www.floofy.dog) directly to the Humane Society of North Iowa between now and November 26. If you were on the fence about purchasing something from my store here’s a good reason to do so.
Either way please consider a small donation. .
Also - There is no word yet on adoptions as the matter is still under investigation. But please follow @humanesocietyofnorthiowa and @aspca for updates. .

If you buy a dog from a pet store, online seller or market, you’re almost certainly getting a dog from a puppy mill. Factory-style breeding facilities that put profit above the welfare of the animals. In kuwait there is tons of places like this, private breeders, the Friday market, online, hundreds of disgusting pet shops. Animals from puppy mills are housed in shockingly poor conditions with improper medical care, and are often very sick and behaviorally troubled as a result. The moms of these puppies are kept in cages to be bred over and over for years, without human companionship and with little hope of ever joining a family. And after they're no longer profitable, breeding dogs are simply discarded—either killed, abandoned or sold at auction. ADOPT DON’T SHOP. This statement has so much meaning behind it, think about it. Photos were taken from places in kuwait and all over the world. yes, this is the reality. #adoption#adoptdontshop#puppymill#rescueanimals#kuwait#helpanimals#savealife#adoptapet#endpuppymills#catbreeding#animalcruelty
