Many people would look at this last week before the official launch of the holidays as basically “the end of the year” professionally and immediately skip to planning for 2019.⠀
Don’t get me wrong— I am absolutely looking ahead to 2019! But don’t give up on 2018 just yet!⠀
There is still a solid six weeks to get some real growth work done, like⠀
-scheduling an informational interview with a new contact⠀
-signing up for an online professional development opportunity ⠀
- sending overdue thank you notes⠀
-review and reset goals from 2018⠀
- declare a day of rest and do something completely frivolous and fun to detox your brain⠀
- read one article/ book that impacts your industry⠀
See what I mean? There’s plenty left to do in 2018!⠀

So this just happened! Shout out to my boy Spanky over @spanky_sikwhips for the paint on the wheels.
Bella needed some shoes so I had to bless her 🤷🏾♂️🤙🏽🤘🏽🚀🚀🚀🕴🏾🤧🕺🏾👑‼️
Want to know something about this lamp? My dad made it! He customized this blender to be a lamp for my office. He even put in color changing lightbulb as a nod to the horse of a different color in the Wizard of Oz. If you look closely at the bottom you can see that my mom stenciled a famous quote, " there is no place like home." These are just a few simple touches made to make my office more approachable for students. .
I love to shine a light on students and their work. Whether it be through featuring them in the book, EduMagic a guide for preservice teachers or showcasing their stories on my blog. .
How do you shine a light on your students? Head on over to my story to reply! .
#TBT In 1959, Lowell Edwards met Dr. Albert Starr, who convinced him to develop a replacement heart valve instead of an artificial heart. Edwards set about creating the valve in his lab -- a backyard workshop! Check it out in the photo.
