There’s nothing "common" about me...⠀
Recently, someone asked, “how do you continue making things happen for yourself despite the odds”? My initial response, I’m wired differently.⠀
But there’s more to it. You see, for as long as I can remember, I knew exactly what I wanted and didn’t want in life.⠀
As a little girl growing up in Washington Heights, I had envisioned how I wanted my future to be, while looking out of a 4th floor window. A time when teenage pregnancy, drugs and dropping out of school were prevalent.⠀
My attitude then and still today is if “they” can do it, so can I. And by "they", I mean people I admire and continue to inspire me.⠀
So as you go on about your week, believe that anything is possible and within reach. How? By being clear on what you want and don’t want.⠀
oh, btw, I'm still that same little girl dreaming what's possible and I can't wait to see what the future holds...
I CONVINCED MYSELF AN MLM WOULD SAVE ME
What feels like a lifetime ago I was working a job that I used to love, but it lost its fun. They were suffering (probably because they refused to change) & I was losing money and hours.
I got to the point where I hated going there. I’d rather repeatedly slam my hand in a car 🚗 door than go there.
Then my grandma passed away and even though I was working 6 days a week I couldn’t afford to fly home. I had to borrow money. Most weeks I had to choose between groceries and gas. Gas always won.
Suddenly I started seeing these mlms with big promises of quitting my job & never worrying about money again.
I thought it was perfect. They had the product. They’d teach me what to do. How much easier could it be?
So I watched all the training videos. Went to events. Tried to do what they taught, and I got a lot of nothing. What they taught didn’t feel good so I didn’t do it. I hate being pressured so I don’t pressure people. I don’t cold sell to strangers. I don’t make promises I can’t keep.
I failed at mlms. But that led me to a life changing coach. I helped people in mlms create success. I realized I wanted to help more people. I wanted them to find their thing, so they could stop settling!! Joining an mlm didn’t save me financially, but it helped me find my path. What I do now. What I’m #crazygood at. What allows me to help people find their version of success and happiness
Mistakes and failures aren’t bad. Most times they show you something you would have never seen otherwise.
I know I’m not alone in this. If you found your next step through a bad path, post an emoji below 💜💜💜
Haven’t baked anything for a while! Baking always makes me happy. I get to create something for my family. This time Anzac biscuits (as it is Anzac Day this Wednesday) and coconut and chocolate muffins. Yum. So often it is the simple things that bring happiness.
