Hey hey! I haven’t done a #fridayintroduction in a while, and what better way to introduce a photographer than through a self-portrait? This is probably how most of my clients see me, and how you’ll see me tomorrow at the wedding of @brookeard and @jasmaxwell77! (I’M SO EXCITED!). It’s where I prefer to be—BEHIND the camera! I’m a a Believer, wife, #boymom x 2, middle school teacher, and photographer. This biz is more of a passion than a hustle for me (although this time of year you will see me hustling quite a bit)! I LOVE what I do. I get to spend my time with sweet families, seniors about to embark on their wildest adventure yet—college, and couples on some of the happiest days of their lives...what’s not to love? Happy Fri-yay, everyone!
I love this photo of myself. It is out of focus. I’m contorting my body in such a hilarious manner. But I think it looks about right. And it reminds me of fun adventures we’ve had and those yet to come.
Hey guys! It’s me, Stacie! 💁🏼♀️ Nice to meet you! I thought it was about time that I show my face here in my feed. Being in front of the camera for once was such a fun experience with my girl Erin from @geephotography12 📸 Thank you for such a fun evening talking “shop” and talking life! .
Here few things you might not know about me (can anyone relate?!):
📺 I originally went to college to major in Broadcast Journalism. After a not-so-fun radio broadcasting experience I switched majors to magazine journalism. .
💄 I’m in my 30s and have yet to find a lipstick shade that doesn’t make me cringe. I was a Mary Kay rep for 5 years and always felt like a fraud while helping others pick out their perfect color. .
💗 My first love was ballet. I was a ballerina until I was 17 when I gave it up to explore different hobbies - swimming, show choir, flag team & cheerleading. I was on pointe when I was 9 years old ... I still think back and wonder what my life would have been like if I had continued to dance. .
❤️ Today is our 9th wedding anniversary!!! I married my soulmate, my person, my Adam. Those 9 wonderful years have been filled with travel, children, memories, good food, good laughs, and finishing each other’s sentences. Love you @afkimbo❤️ .
Have a great Wednesday all! ✨ .
If you asked me what I would want to do if I didn’t have photography, I wouldn’t be able to answer you. Of course, I will be mom/wife/daughter/sister/friend. Those things are something I cannot and will not disconnect from. I love those parts of me. Being a mom, for me, goes without saying. But I would be missing something. There is nothing else I could be to fill that little hole but than to be a photographer.
This is not some hobby for me or a way to make a little money on the side. Not that those are bad reasons to be a photographer, they’re just not MY reasons. I live and breathe photography. I am obsessed with it. Ever since the day I realized it could actually legitimately be a career for me, I have focused all my non family/friend/mom attentions on it. I have read so many photography books, attended a workshop a year since the beginning and bought/poured over e-courses I thought would help me be the best. Even the ones about the design and business and marketing side, the stuff not directly related to photography but the stuff that I thought would be relevant. I study exposure sheets from the lab trying to learn how to perfectly expose each image. I practice shooting at home just to nail my focus at the shallowest depth of field available. I dream in wedding photography, spend every nap and sleeping hour Sofie has working on having better SEO and wishing I was more extroverted so I could “tell that girl on the sidewalk in NY how beautiful she is and could I please take her portraits”. I go on walks with Ben and criticize my own business practices and try to figure out how to make my clients’ experience the best it’s ever been. And I wish that when those two boys in Brooklyn asked me about my camera, I would have had the courage to say “let’s get coffee and I’ll tell you everything I know” without worrying I’d sound like a complete nerd.
I dream of how one day I’ll be so important that I’ll get to photograph Lauren Graham or Anna Kendrick in my studio and give people a platform to really show who they are beyond the smiling persona they show the world.

This nugget moved back to the land of groves and wild turkeys and almonds pronounced like aaahmans. She’s a fierce woman with a whole lotta creative fire that, fortunately, now has a roomy studio to facilitate her many means of expression. Love you, @teagancarrie
