June is the month of pride 🌈
We celebrate how far we've come and make noise about where we need to go.
The message is simple.
Be kind & love one another, & who cares about the rest.
6 years ago this was taken. 🌈
Our stories are so different it's kind of amazing.
A friendship that simply started because we are gay. ❤
Why? Because though we are the same as every other human we still deal with ugly shit & leaning on each other helps keep us strong.
That's why PRIDE exists. 🌈

A lovely trip to the rose garden was invigorating as it was lighthearted, so many people taking in the floral aromas and the breathtaking sea of colorful flowers.
And yet of course, I was drawn and slightly more fascinated with some fern shrubs off to the side. The sincerity and lack of “flash” in a sea of bright colors reminds me to appreciate the less obvious and the under-appreciated. Maybe it tells me something about myself, too. Plants have a way of speaking to us if we’re willing to listen, showing us pieces of ourselves in the process. //
ps. If someone can identify the surrounding plant, pls let me know!
