🇯🇵 Week One: Lesson One complete!!! Yay.
The first half of the week was dedicated to memorizing and learning how to write the hiragana characters.
The latter half was dedicated towards practicing vocabulary and my pronounciation. (Sidenote still cannot say Ra/Ri/Ru/Re/Ro or Rya/Ryu/Ryo to save my life.)
My goals for next week: 🌟 Start Tagalog (I already know basic / conversational Tagalog so I won't dedicate too much of my time learning it until the vocabulary gets more complicated.) 🌟 Complete Lesson 2. Hopefully be able to put simple sentences together. 🌟 Be able to spell words correctly after only hearing them.
Grateful that I can be around and withhold some insights that are only transmitted through representations. The lack of accuracy yet the goosebumps and enlightenment they leave in a person’s soul are glimpses of magic. I live for the fact that they also reach parts of the spirit that can’t be reached by the literal grid. :) #art#literature#creative#blogger#polyglot#youtuber#filmmaker

They say #Canadians talk about the #weather all the time but since we're in the midst of a brutal #snowstorm in Eastern Canada right now, I'm going to perpetuate the stereotype. Be careful out there!
2 weeks into the marinate of MEL+ACETUM+FERULA
— and these guys turned out deliciously 😍🤤🍯 •
The ancient Romans knew how make a solid cocktail hors d’oeuvre 🏺‼️
And no it hasn’t ALL been procrastination — video & audio production isn’t my forte, but today is for finishing touches so stay tuned very shortly 😁🎬🎙
I’m most likely going to go ahead of my human anatomy class a little and just take next chapter’s notes from the text book and also review what I have from last years medical careers class. On the side note, I did a quick 5 minute crossdress and took a photo; I’m probably going to post it but heck knowing me, I’ll end up deleting it— who knows.
Altra parola misteriosa che forse non conosci. ⠀
Questo è un gioco, solo per divertirci! Voglio leggere le vostre intuizione creative! ⠀
Here is another mysery word that you might not know. ⠀
Without looking it up on a dictionary, write in the comments what you think is the meaning of the word ANTA. ⠀
This is a game, just for fun! I want to read your creative intuitions!
Today's neuter word is "Et skianlegg" - ski area.
It implies an area with ski lifts, prepared piste and other facilities for downhill skiing. In Norway there are also very many places for cross-country skiing. Ski tracks are prepared regularly and you can use them absolutely for free. Even high in the mountains you can find tracks for skiing. A real paradise if you love skiing! 😊🎿
And just Iike that, another week comes to an end and my, my, my has this one been a successful one! .
It finally feels like everything is back on track, I did a lot of things that were uncomfortable at first and arduous but we did it. We got through it. And I’m feeling UNSTOPPABLE! I think I’m finally getting the hang of this balance thing.
Not running and running until I’m exhausted and heading towards burnout lane, but rather attending to every aspect of myself - mind, body, spirit, the ambitious side, the work and everything in between.
It’s a new week so let’s GET IT!
What are your goals for this coming week? 😎
🇺🇲 - Yesterday I studied the preterite tense! The past tense is my weakness in Spanish - I can only talk in the present and future tense now. Today is a day for practicing!

Day 20 #iglc language challenge “CULTURE”. Whether we like it or not religion has a huge influence on culture, law and traditions. Ireland has still a Catholic majority although in the last 30 years the power of the church on society has certainly faded. In ireland apart from the obvious church “eaglais” there are many shrines which have links to the past religion like this one here “tobar bríd” Saint Brigid’s well in Kildare Ireland where you can leave things at the shrine and as her for favours. I still believe Ireland is still a superstitious place with its own brand of catholicism. People light candles and leave them in the window for kids doing exams, there is a saint for every situation and beyond that even certain superstitions are respected like never puck up a comb from the street as it belongs to the “ban sí” or breaking a fairy ring. For weddings people leave a statue if the “child of prague” outside so that it wont rain.

Day 20 #iglc language challenge “CULTURE”. Whether we like it or not religion has a huge influence on culture, law and traditions. As with Serbia Ukraine is Orthodox christian. A lot of similarities in culture can be seen comparing Serbian life to Ukrainian life, although only one seem to be friends with the Russians.

Day 20 #iglc language challenge “CULTURE”. Whether we like it or not religion has a huge influence on culture, law and traditions. In Serbia the church “црква” is almost 100% orthodox. Recognisable by the rounded domes they can be seen all over the country. Christmas easter and new year ate celebrated at a different time to the west.
Here you see the “Свети Сава” church in Belgrade in 2018.
Day 20 #iglc language challenge “CULTURE”. Whether we like it or not religion has a huge influence on culture, law and traditions. At least on paper the majority religion in Croatia is catholicism. Everywhere in the country you here the church bells on a Sunday. The churches along the coast have a Venetian feel to them. Religious holidays like easter, christmas are celebrated here.
I took this picture of that church in Zagreb in 2016, is it ready? Da? Ne? #crkva#zagreb#church#catholicism#polyglot#croatianculture
Day 20 #iglc language challenge “CULTURE”. Whether we like it or not religion has a huge influence on culture, law and traditions. In Bosnia the main religion is Islam, with Orthodox christian and Catholicism in smaller numbers. You will see plenty of mosques “džamija” scattered around the country and you may wake up to the call for prayer. Many non muslims will actually say “maš Allah”. Some businesses will be completely alcohol free following Islam rules.

Being a polyglot is cool but my dreams exploded last night and I couldn't speak any language people around me were speaking. I'm watching a handful of series right now, one in Italian (Il mio Geniale Amico/My Brilliant Friend), one in German (Parfum/Perfume) and one in French (The Romanoffs). I've got Italian vocabulary words written on all my mirrors in the house to brush up. My dream was in Italian but no one understood me because I think I was in Japan but I couldn't switch to Japanese.

Guess who’s back!? 🙋🏼♀️ I’m feeling refreshed after my month long Instagram blackout and I want to talk about what really happened...which was a mental health breakdown.
I don’t want to sit here and pretend like I have it all figured out, because I don’t. Over the last few months I was spending an upwards of 5 hours on Instagram per day. 🤦🏼♀️(Which IMO is not healthy in the least! I want those hours back!)
It was a combination of FOMO, comparison, addiction to technology and trying to fit in that drove me over the edge. My quest for the perfect gram pic paired with obsessing over other peoples lives threw me into a dark hole of depression. Every trip I took, meal I had, outfit I wore was starting to become another ‘story’ or post for Insta. Like I was some pre-programed Instagram robot who’s sole purpose in life was to put shit up on social media. 🤖
It stole every ounce of joy away from my day.
When is it just all too much? Where do I draw the line? How much time/effort/focus I give this little popularity contest we call Instagram.
To be honest, I just started to feel so…. sad! 😰
I don’t want an app to have that much control over my life. I just want my old life back, before it turned into an obsession with a superficial game.
So am I deleting my account?
No, I am here to stay, but I’m going to start showing up differently.
(Like…when I want to for starters, not when some algorithm tells me it’s the best time to post.)
✨I want to post more about what inspires me, things that enrage me, what I witness in the world, the people I meet off the beaten path and the entire ying/yang of travel. Not just the pretty curated parts.
I’m just looking for some realness ✌️
I spoke with Huffington post about my mental health struggle with social media. Article link is in my bio 🔗

So many verbs with the Grundverb "ziehen"... that got me confused a lot when I have just started to learn German.
I hope that this post will make it a little bit easier for you to understand and remember more German verbs ;) And now some examples:
einziehen -> Ein nettes junges Paar mit Kindern ist nebenan eingezogen (A nice young couple with kids moved in next door)
Der Fischer zog das Netz ein (The fisherman pulled in the net)
Ich zog meinen Mantel aus, weil die Sonne schien (I took off my coat because the sun was shining)
Der junge Mann zog bei seinen Eltern aus (The young man moved out of his parents' house)
Eltern wenden viel Zeit und Geld auf, um ihre Kinder aufzuziehen (Parents spend a lot of time and money to raise their children)
I fostered the child, but it was not mine)
The verbs with *sign have inseparable prefixes - so please pay attention to it :) Erziehen ->
Einen Welpen muss man erziehen (A puppy needs to be trained)
Sie erzogen ihre Kinder zu verantwortungsvollen Erwachsenen (They raised up/educated their children to be responsible adults)
I hope this was not too much hehe :P
It takes time to learn these verbs and to understand the different meanings, but it does enrich your vocabulary :D
More examples in the comments below ;) .
