I took advantage of superb weather to check out a place I had had on my mind for ages, but never got to go because of the long drive. Jacques Lake, near Jasper is a 12km hike with a backcountry camping site near the shoreline. The trail was perfect for early season, going up and down gently through some mossy forest and crossing many gurgling streams. It also meanders around Beaver and Summit lakes for some beautiful views along the way.
An early morning bull moose allows me to photograph him before vanishing into the woods. Grateful for this opportunity, as though I saw a number of moose on my trip, there were not so many chances to photograph them.
