Today at 12 a.m. Jan 17, 2019 @ezriahjohnson turned 4 years young! There is so much I can say about this little guy, but it makes more sense to just say I love you to the moon and back 100 times over again! I’m so incredibly glad to be your father and thank you for pushing me to be the best me possible !! Have a great day buddy and eat lots of treats for me! 😘

You don’t arrive late for the ferry—the ferry waits for no one. This is the dock on the island where I spent the holidays in ’17 and it was drilled into me before I booked my passage: don’t be late!
I’ve gone through my rebellious times when I thought that most rules were just there to keep me from fun, but these days I have a bigger picture vision of why rules and regulations exist, and who might benefit from having them in place.
Though I’m much more of a rule follower than I used to be, I still get a little tickled when I see someone being rebellious. Not “steal packages off my porch” rebellious, or “drive dangerously in a school zone” rebellious, but more wholesome like a “refuse to wear a skirt to work because you think your work dress code is silly” kind of rebellion.
One of the way we can categorize the rules we live by is “written” and “unwritten” rules. In most cases, I’m a stickler for the written rules. I may not agree with them, I may not like them, but it seems that if they have been placed fairly and apply to me, I need to choose to follow them (even if I’m simultaneously working to change them). Ya, I can think of exceptions and moments when civil disobedience has benefitted society, but I’m talking more about keeping my dog on a leash on certain trails.
Unwritten rules, however, drive me up the wall. Feeling like I’m being held to a secret standard seems hugely unfair. And if the rule is unwritten, we may all have our own version of it and even though I’m following mine precisely, I could be making someone else feel like my “disobedience” was hurtful, annoying, threatening, disrespectful, or any other negative impression; meanwhile, I’m oblivious.
Fortunately, there’s an antidote to the craziness that comes from trying to satisfy everyone’s unwritten rules: stop it. Do what you think is right. Follow your heart. Have confidence. Do it with kindness and be full of consideration for them, but if people don’t like it, then spend your efforts elsewhere.
This is my first time probably EVER editing and uploading the same day I did a shoot and I just wanna say WOW congratz me, you really out here in 2019 doin the most. Also I got stuck in the snow today as you can see in the third picture; moral of that story is ALWAYS have a shovel in ur car because otherwise you’ll have to use your windshield scraper to chip away at the snow around your tire. Super fun. (And also maybe just don’t off-road in a car?)
Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what could be.

It's a fact that consumers have indicated that they gravitate toward businesses that are socially, ethically and environmentally conscious, but some unscrupulous businesses take advantage of this by resorting to greenwashing and/or deceit about their donation practices. We are committed to authenticity, and we embrace our donation partners and celebrate those relationships. If a company isn't promoting or publicly identifying their charity or non-profit, don't be afraid to ask where their donation money goes. We are proud to support @sealifer3 in the creation of this unisex organic cotton tee! 100% of the proceeds from this tee goes directly to @sealifer3, and two dollars of every purchase of apparel from our Mighty Ocean Collection also goes to SR3 to support their work advancing the health and welfare of marine wildlife in the Pacific Northwest. Cheers to joining hands in support of each other and the planet! 🌏♻️🤝🌊🏔🏞🌲

Staging this kitchen was lots of fun. There are so many features in this kitchen to love! Which feature do you like best?
Hands up in the air for Fri-yayyyy! After having a short week last week from the holidays this one definitely felt like it dragged in my opinion. Ready for a little outdoor time and some important errands this weekend. I'm REALLY excited for next weekend's semi-planned adventure though and hoping the weather will hold out. Also, I've been reading horror stories about the conditions of some of our parks & trails from the government shutdown. Fortunately I haven't seen anything terrible yet on the trails I've been on but I am doing a popular hike this weekend and getting worried about how things will be. I'm sure you've heard it from many this week, but it is an important message that you can't hear enough. Keep our outdoors clean, leave no trace. Do your part to help clean up when possible and absolutely get on someone if you witness them trashing our outdoors.
But my biggest concern is all the employees that have been suffering during this shutdown essentially over a damn wall. I'm not going to get too much into politics on here, I have my opinions and I'm sure you can make guesses on them and where I lean to, but I've been following all this closely (as I do with most current news & events in our world and encourage you to as well) and it needs to come to a resolution. The government is not working FOR its people right now at all. What a mess.
workin’ hard, or hardly working? spending my off day getting shit done!💥that means, errands, grocery shopping, cleaning my room n’ editing! what are you up to today?♥️
