Shifting gears a little here. These pictures are from 2014-2016. The commonality in all 4 photos? I was absolutely 1,000% depressed. Crazy right? I have a smile on, I have my appearance together, I’m with people in every photo... yet in absolute shambles. With just barely enough energy and motivation to make myself look “ok” in the eyes of those around me. I bring this up because I get so many messages, comments and texts from friends and followers—“You always seem so happy, how do you get that way?” And even “You seem so perfect; how do you do it?” Truth is I have my moments and I am far from perfection. Would you believe me if I told you the Renaye in these pictures was battling terrible thoughts, family relationship issues, loss/death of a loved child, image issues? Guys, we are ALL going through something. Depression and sadness has many different looks. It doesn’t always “look” like what would assume for it to be. I did a great job of looking fine in front of people (and I’ve even had times where I did not—literally didn’t do anything to myself at all but that’s a deeper post for another time) but my mind was a wreck; I couldn’t wait to go home and cry, be in the dark, stay in my room for months. Though I’m far from where I was in these pictures, the main message I want to get across is that we have to stop making assumptions of the “happiness” of others based on what we see online. It’s toxic for you to compare yourself to another individual. It breaks my heart anytime I get a text/message from someone asking me about “How I have it together all the time”. Everybody’s broken shatters differently. You never know what someone is going through. This culture of comparison is devastating. I really hope people can start to realize that what you see online are only the highlights. You don’t see pictures of empty bank accounts, bare fridges, hopeless thoughts... you just don’t. Even the happiest people go through some deep valleys. I have the same smile today as I did in these photos but you would never be able to tell that today, my smile is real. Is my life perfect? No, but today I see the sun over the horizon and can handle gray clouds cus I’ve got my ☂😊
Found a perfect sweater for me! 🥰 I never thought of myself as a dreamer... I consider myself a planner with big, wild and lofty dreams that change with my passions. But my passion as long as I can remember was to change the world in some way. I have always wanted to be apart of a revolution in thinking. A paradigm shift. Having my own... learning about the reality around me. I found it in @younglivingeo Young Living. I don’t hitch my wagon to many things. I don’t trust companies and I am unforgiving in standards and ethics. Young living has changed my life and continues to do so and now they are part of my dream to change the world. B is for Buckwheat Chia Bread. Gluten and grain free. Buckwheat is a pseudo grain so there are many more people who is perfectly fine with consuming it. Buckwheat is technically a seed, packed with nutrients like protein, dietary fiber, four B vitamins and several dietary minerals, with content especially high (47 to 65% DV) in niacin, magnesium, manganese and phosphorus (100 grams). You know how magical is chia seeds already. There are also herbs, raw sunflower seeds, coconut oil and dash of Himalayan pink salt. Perfect as is or toasted. Filling. Healthy. .
The cheesiest vegan mac n cheese.
You guys asked for it!
A vegan Mac n cheese that does not involve potatoes, carrots and cashews 😂 THIS is the real deal.
Tag a mac n cheese lover. It will fool anyone I PROMISE.
Serves about 10
3 tbsp vegan butter
3 tbsp all purpose flour
2 1/4 cups unsweetened plain cashew milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cup shredded vegan cheddar (I used @followyourheart cheese for the other two cheeses below as well )
1 cup shredded vegan mozzarella
1 cup shredded vegan Gouda
1 lb macaroni noodles, cooked al dente
1/2 cup herbed bread crumbs
1. In a pot over medium-high heat, melt the vegan butter and whisk in the flour until well-incorporated, about one minute.
2. Add the cashew milk a 1/4 cup at a time, whisking constantly until absorbed. Keep adding the milk until fully absorbed and the mixture is smooth, has thickened and is creamy.
3. Reduce the heat to low and add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Then add all the shredded vegan cheese but reserve 1/2 a cup (for topping later). Stir until smooth.
4. Add the cooked macaroni and mix until fully coated.
5. Pour the mac and cheese into a baking dish and top with the reserved 1/2 cup shredded vegan cheese, and bread crumbs.
Broil on high for 5 minutes or until golden brown. .
Sitting here finishing dinner, the entire time wishing I was back at Villaggio Ristorante @villaggio110 having the amazing dinner I had with my friend Mike @getsold.ca last night. (I’m going to share pics of that dinner in stories) In the meantime ... #onmyplate sautéed garlicky kale, half a sweet potato, roasted Brussels sprouts, tomatoes, and chickpeas. Sprinkled with spicy smoked paprika and added baba ghanouj post pic. Plans now to snuggle up with my sweet Mia 🐶 who sleeps most of the time now, make a tea and catch up here for a bit. Happy Tuesday! .

Day 93: What will you be known for? //
I heard this quote today on a leadership call and it was like someone banged a gong in my soul🙇🏼♀️THIS is my passion! .
I have been told for many years by countless people that I am an amazing connector - it’s one of my spiritual gifts. Honestly, for a long time I wasn’t sure how that played a part in my purpose until I started down a path where I get to create my life around seeing and nurturing the greatness in others - sometimes even before they see it in themselves🧐
When you develop a leader, you develop thousands. Well, mark my words, I will develop THOUSANDS OF LEADERS who will go on to develop thousands more. A ripple so massive that we will be known for significant positive influence and I will have a platform to call upon these leaders when our communities and our world need it most👩👩👧🌍
Mark my words.
What is your legacy?

I wasn’t sure if #transformationtuesday was still a thing but I was happy to see it was!! First off, let me brag on this guy!! He’s been blessed with the most precious little family 👨👩👦👦 adorable twin boys and a sweet wife to keep him in check. I feel pretty darn lucky to be a part of his life after so many years!! The bottom photo was taken in 2007 and the top photo was taken in 2015, 8 years difference!! In the top photo I weighed approximately 10-15 pounds more.
How are you using this time in the Liminal space? Are you manifesting and creating for the future, or are you fixated on a past that only exists in history? Think about it.

It’s okay to set boundaries with your emotions and your time, just be wary of how you are coming off to other people. You can protect yourself without alienating the ones you love.

Today I had the Mexican fiesta from @soul.press as a reward for a workout well done 👌🌱
I don't always feel like exercising, sometimes it's hard to get the motivation. Today was one of those days, but I still went to gym and I still did my workout. Why?
Because no matter how I feel beforehand, once I've worked out I feel better about myself, I feel stronger, accomplished and happier. I am doing this for my health, both physical and mental. I am doing this for me. 💪
What motivates you to exercise? 🏃

It's been over 13 years that I've eaten a #fullyraw#vegan diet, and I've LOVED each moment. 🍉 Contrary to common belief, I haven’t died of a “protein deficiency” or suffered from starvation by any means. Actually, I feel like I’m only getting better with time! I’ve reversed my type ll diabetes, increased my energy, saved many animals from being on my plate, helped the environment, and even changed my thoughts and feelings too. It's been a transformative mind, body, spirit journey. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. I know it seems odd in today's age to eat fruits and veggies, especially since so many other options are available and since so many other things are now "trending." However, health is something that will never go out of style—it allows you to live your BEST LIFE. I encourage you to eat one FullyRaw or vegan meal a day. I don't need to say much more. You'll feel (and see) a difference. Enjoy the gift of health. 🎁🍇🍉🍓🍒🥑🍍💓✨

❤️ Big heart bowl 📷 by @thebirdfeednyc 🚨🚨Recipe: agave-lime massaged kale, chipotle baked sweet potato, red pepper, taco-seasoned roasted chickpeas, purple cabbage, grilled corn & an avocado heart with red pepper flakes.
taco-seasoned roasted chickpeas:
• 1 can organic chickpeas
• 1/4 tsp garlic powder
• 1/4 tsp onion powder
• 1/4 tsp chipotle chili powder
• 1/4 tsp paprika
• 1/2 tsp cumin
• 1 tsp chili powder
• 1 1/2 tsp olive oil
• salt & pepper to taste
- Preheat oven to 400F. - Rinse and dry 1 can of organic chickpeas. After draining, I lay mine on top of a paper towel-lined baking sheet, roll them back and forth a bit, remove some of the skins and let them air dry for a few minutes.
- When dry, place chickpeas in a small bowl. Add olive oil, garlic, onion, chipotle chili, paprika, cumin and chili. Mix gently and add salt & pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the outside of the chickpeas are crisp. Stir halfway through cooking time.

It’s looking like I’m gonna be ending 2018 strong. 🥰 My relationship with food has done a complete 180. Not only do I not have the urge to binge, but the thought of eating a bunch of food is actually very unappealing. It’s like I have no desire to do it, which is a weird feeling because I always struggled with wanting to binge even though I knew I shouldn’t. I’m only one pound away from a new low weight, which is absolutely crazy to me because I haven’t been super focused on losing weight. I’ve been more focused on balance, so it’s really nice that I have been able to lose weight without thinking about it 24/7. I’m ready to take on the holiday season. I’m gonna be eating lots of potatoes, but I know my limit and I’m feeling good. I’m officially 174 days binge-free (but who’s counting? 😉) and I’m ready to see that number reach 365. Let’s goooooo. 🤘🏻

I’ve missed making soup 🙌🏼
Going away tomorrow for a couple of days (to visit the fam) so I decided to make a soup to use up the veggies I had in the fridge. It always varies on what I use but today it was onion, carrot, mushroom & spinach. I also added some pasta because...duh. Pasta is life!
I start by sautéing onion & carrot in my sauce pan with a little olive oil. When the onions become translucent I add 1 crushed garlic clove and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
I then added in 1 cup vegetable broth, 1/2-3/4 cup water and some passata. I bring that to a boil, add my pasta (I did around 1/2-3/4 cup I didn’t measure) I then lower the heat to a simmer and let the pasta cook. Once the pasta is done, I add a squeeze of lemon juice, spinach, salt & pepper to taste. Then I plate and add some nutritional yeast!
This is super easy to make but also incredibly hearty. If you ever need to use your veggies up then I highly recommend trying this :)

That waist to hand ratio tho 🙌🏻 Less than a month before the photo on the left was taken, I weighed in at my heaviest, 224.6 pounds. This morning I weighed in at 126.2. Feeling so grateful for the changes my past self made to get to where I am now. 💕 For more information on how I’ve done this, check out my page, @medicalmedium, and my partner @thevanillavegan, who’s lost 70 pounds as well. 👏🏻 I’m telling you people, fruits and vegetables! 🍑🍎🍊
