It’s been a minute since I touched on Intuitive Eating and wanted to note a personal success I had today - my day started at 6am and ended tonight at 6:30pm. Typically I’m running place to place and forget to eat until I’m starving. I actually took a step back today and pre-planned a mid-afternoon snack which was a game changer. Might seem silly but it was what I needed today. I struggle with procrastination which trickles into lots of areas of life including my eating habits... what can I say? I’m a work in progress 🤷🏼♀️
Part of Intuitive Eating is eating when hungry and stopping when full, but there is also such thing as “preventative eating.” Meaning planning to eat when you may not be particularly hungry knowing you’re not going to have flexibility to follow hunger signals during the day. This ensures you don’t set yourself up to starve and overeat in response.
What do (or did) you find difficult to concur as it relates your body and hunger? Planning snacks? Heading into meals starving? Feelings of guilt surrounding food choices? I’ve definitely fallen into all of these categories at times but believe it’s important to trust our bodies and treat ourselves with kindness.
My next goal falls into the “intuitive movement” category: ensuring I don’t neglect my own workouts! More on that another day. Happy hump day friends! Friday is right around the corner 😅🙌🏼
