My aunt Ruby @ruby.schbok (my dad’s sister) visiting Pakistan🇵🇰 for the first time as an adult! She hadn’t been there since she was a little girl 47 years ago (!) and this month she traveled there to visit family and get to know the place again.
I can’t even imagine what an emotional trip it must have been, and how many memories it must have brought back. We, her family on this side of the world has had the privilege of following her through her updates, meeting her cousins, uncles and aunts for the first time since 1972.
My grandfather (Ruby’s father) passed away in Spain three years ago, and seeing her hug his brother, who looks and talks just like him, when she arrived in Karachi was actually a little tear-jerking. Such a beautiful reunion! Have you ever had the experience of coming back to a place or being reunited with family after a long time?
This beautiful photo of Ruby with two Pakistani rangers was taken by my aunt Rani at the Wagah Border! Happy Pakistan Day 🇵🇰 Peace and love ✌🏼💖

PAKISTAN ZINDABAD 🇵🇰 .
Everyone told me it was too dangerous to travel Pakistan. That it was not safe for a solo female on a bike. After now completing my journey across the country by myself, I can tell you my first hand experience, what Pakistan is really about. .
PAKISTAN....be proud. That, as a country, a whole, you have made a remarkable imprint on my heart. No matter what hardships you’ve been through, you continue to shine. And the people’s love radiates across the land. Stand tall. And continue to support one another knowing that the people, is the true heart of Pakistan. Unite as one. Knowing your value in the world and what Pakistan stands for. PEACE and LOVE.
That, as a single foreign female in a Muslim predominant country, I never felt more safe, accepted, respected and loved. I’m often sent messages of gratitude and thanks for sharing my experiences here. For me, it’s not even a question of “thanks”. It’s a dutiful honor, a Gift from God. That I am able to share my experiences with the people here. For their hearts deserve to be seen. The world needs to be inspired. And the people of this nation have set a president for all of HUMANITY. So I am humbled that I can be the vessel to share this love. For it is I that should be grateful for the unconditional love I’ve received. .
Happy PAKISTAN DAY 🇵🇰
May you all be blessed 💗
