During this project, it was interesting to note how girls build their perspective for the future in a collective way.
Nine out 10 girls from this class wanted to become professional footballers.

The one lakh-strong African diaspora in India is known as the Siddi community. It is derived from Arabic ‘Syeed’, which means ‘refined’. About 90 per cent live in Gujarat and Karnataka—the latter part descendants of slaves who escaped from the Portuguese. They are mostly Christian and supported by the Catholic church and, to an extent, by the state government.

August 13, 2012 - Exhausted and no better place for a snooze. "Buzkashi", surely one of the most "macho" and masculine sports. Yet, among the crowds of boys dreaming of their future in "goat pulling", you'll find sweet moments of tenderness, brotherhood, and true love. This is my moment, for this week. Behind the kicking, the whipping, the screaming, and fighting...there's always the truth of humankind.
