The Monaghan Cafe is centrally located in Peterborough at 1017 Monaghan Road. They are open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday - Sunday from 7am-3pm. Eve-Alexandra St-Laurent and Chef Jeffrey Wilfong are the current owners and have transformed the establishment into a trendy upscale diner. When you set foot inside you are drawn to the bright and clean dining room. Local artists display their paintings on the wall and the service is friendly - we were served by Eve and she was great. We tried the classic burger, cloud nine omelette, and grilled cheese. All were excellent choices and everything looked great on the menu. The burger - a mix of ground chuck and chorizo was blissfully juicy, flavourful, and fresh. Cloud nine omelette was delicious and fluffy the goats cheese, parmesan, and avocado was a nice touch. It also, included a smoothie! The grilled cheese includes Brie and homemade onion jam! Again, an excellent choice! We also had the featured dessert - Beaver tail with homemade ice cream (eggnog), and dulce de leche it was sensational!
