“ As a natural pear shape, I often shy away from pencil skirts and loudly complain to the rest of the Tuesday team about by prominent hip dip (trust me, if you have it, it's REALLY annoying), which is why when this gorgeous khaki oversized jumper landed on the site you could literally hear me shriek with delight. It meant I got to try on the leather pencil skirt I've had my eyes on for months! The wide cut of the jumper skims over my largest area (the bum) and draws the attention down to the lower part of my leg, meaning the gorgeous statement skirt gets the attention it truly deserves. Don't be put off by oversized silhouettes, as sometimes, they can actually be incredibly slimming! "⠀

Last year I interviewed @richardmcmunnauthor who’s written over 150 books and made more than £7m online.
He stared in evenings and weekends, he hustled when he could AND he didn’t quit his full time job until he’d made £1m.
In this interview he shares his tips, tricks and success secrets.

Last year was rough for me. I did a number of things to survive everyday but one thing I did that I think helped a lot, was seeking wisdom from strong women! I found a lot of wisdom from reading and following inspirational women on social media (I cleaned up my social media last year big time!!). So I wrote about my 3 favorite quotes from this year! They are on sticky notes on my closet door and looking at them helped shape my frame of mind every day! So go read them!

Don't do what the "cool" kids are doing!
This kid!!! He does not follow the status quo! He's an independent, individual, strong willed five year old!!! This photo shows just one instance of this. I grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan, Husband of Mine and his whole family are from Baltimore, Maryland, and are huge Ravens fans. So during football season, we watch and cheer on both teams. However, Son of Mine, being his contrary self, started saying he was going to cheer for a different team ... okay, cool, don't follow the crowd, love it. So, Husband of Mine set rules, well, one rule really, he couldn't pick a team in either the Cowboys or Ravens division. So this little man decided that he was going to be a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan! I mean, what five year old doesn't love pirates?!? Hey, he was born in Florida, so at least it sorta makes sense. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My in-laws have seasons tickets to the Ravens games, and allowed us to use those so that for Christmas he could see his Bucs play in person [seriously though, what five year old gets to go to an NFL game?] It was cold, and rainy, and we only made it through the first half, but he had a blast! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Moral of the story: Never follow the crowd, always do what you do because YOU like it, and it's the right thing, not because others are telling you to, or because it's "cool."
When things get tough. When they get hard. When you want to give up. Don’t!!! Instead, focus on creating a solution, instead of the problem itself. You’ll be amazed at what’s possible when you re-focus and simply take care of business!
#Jan19RuralBusiness | Day 16 |
Ok, next time I set a challenge, can you remind me not to make the prompts so tricky.
I’m an avid (some may say addicted) consumer of blogs, vlogs and podcasts. So to pick just one to tell you about is so tough!
But I think I’m going to have to go with @rheafreemanpr’s Small & Supercharged podcast, for rural, country and equine related businesses, today. I mean, for starters, I’ve been a guest on it twice, so it must be good, right?
But seriously, it’s fairly new and already absolutely fab. Rhea has shared so much value with her listeners and I’m privileged to have inside information about which guests are coming soon. Trust me when I say you do NOT want to miss them!
Just search for ‘Small & Supercharged’ in whatever podcast app you use and it should come up. If not, you can find every episode on Rhea’s website. Enjoy!
As a Small Business Owner you have a very unique advantage; your personality.⠀
As more and more small businesses enter the market and entrepreneurs make their leap, it becomes very easy to get lost in all the noise and be intimidated by larger brands.⠀
As the face of your brand, you can gain the attention of your customer just by simply telling your story. You don't see the faces behind Nike, Adidas, Apple, or any other major brand on a "average Joe" basis.⠀
Capitalize on your journey, interact with your customers as much as you can and pump as much of yourself into your operations as you can. You'd be amazed what you can accomplish.
