Today Instagram deleted all my drafts. I had over 100 of them... Thankfully I saw this smiley photo of Vulric straight away to cheer me up.
So since I’m starting my posts from scratch, what do you like to see of Vulric?
1️⃣ City life
2️⃣ At home
3️⃣ With other dogs
4️⃣ Hiking / in the wild
Something else entirely?
Help me rebuild my portfolio pleeease
It’s almost Valentine’s Day ❣
Have you got your dog a present? 🥰
Our life together as a couple has changed a little since Mr V joined us - we alternate the horrible responsibility of kicking him out of bed at nighttime and he is getting ever better at manipulating us. Here he is with M, cuddled up and seeing if I will ignore him... and when he realises I’m not going away he throws the cute chin rest look that he knows works on me.
While it now seems so obvious I hadn’t thought about how laughter encourages dogs and reinforces behaviours, until @boneballbark pointed it out to me. No wonder we love dogs so much , they learn to do exactly what makes us laugh and smile, the cunning beasts ♥️ #WHP❤️ #RealLivesOfDogOwners#MasterManipulator

Poor Fenrir very stressed by a pair of barking border collies that were running around off-leash in a leash required area. I called out twice for the woman to please call her dogs as they ran towards us, but of course she ignored me. Luckily Fenrir realized they weren’t a threat in time and actually didn’t even growl or lunge when one of the collies came right up to sniff his nose. At that point I tried to relax the leash and my body language so Fenrir wouldn’t be triggered by me, and the collie backed off and nothing bad happened. But I was (am) so upset! But also very happy with Fenrir! I gave him all the treats in my pocket except one (in case I needed it later on the way home). I gave him that one too when we got back to our street!
I love training Wolfie
Mostly because the challenge is for me , not for him. Of course he knows how to walk backwards or hold something in his mouth, the issue is how do I communicate to him what I want him to do? Gives one a different perspective and lots of patience , especially if day to day life is fast paced, crazy London life
Vulric and I joined a crew of dog owners for a beach cleanup by the Thames this weekend, organised by @citydogexpert .
He initially stayed on lead, he was so excited by the sand, water and a group of new dogs... but after he calmed down I put his lead on the ground and let him roam. He dug into the sand like crazy and kept on running down to the water for a dip. I was particularly happy to see him stay calm with the #Pomeranians - it’s the first time we get to be offlead with some, but these guys live with a Saluki and were not phased by Mr Wolf in the slightest.
We then headed off for a nice lunch in dog friendly @mercatometropolitano that we were dying to try after seeing the @citydogexpert posts about it, humans had very yummy food and Vulric happily snoozed.
