Seen from a different viewpoint Riber Castle is a 19th-century a Grade II listed country house in the hamlet of Riber on a hill overlooking Matlock, Derbyshire. Known locally as "Smedley's Folly" because of the difficulty of getting water to the hill summit, it was built by the industrialist John Smedley in 1862 as his private home. His wife lived in it until her death.
Another shot from Sunday’s walk with Pip, just before the peak I looked across and saw this fab sun bleached landscape and had to stop and take a pic. One thing about the Peak District, there are endless amazing views and you have to stop and take it in at times. Hoping for more walks and runs soon, especially with Fell race season coming on!
**Last Chance To Buy!** Remember this beautiful English Elm table?! Well she's still looking for a home at a new reduced price of only £495! If she doesn't go this time, then she'll be coming home with me (hehe!)... as she's far too pretty to sit in storage!

What have you been up to this holiday? Have you headed off for some winter sun, or hoped the UK start of Spring is enticing enough?
~~~ Peak District ~~~
______________________________________________________ Happy Monday people! I hope your week started well! I’ve just recognised that it’s quite a long time that I’ve don’t give updates about my next trips as I’m still receiving people sending me advices for Japan! 😬
Well, is not that I’m no longer going to Japan but I’m not going this April! Unfortunately, our car abandoned us recently and we needed to replace it with a new one 🙈. Ergo, Japan was crazy expensive for the period I wanted to go!
However, I had already a plan B and immediately swapped to the second country to visit of our bucket list, which is Egypt!! 😍 We found very good flight tickets for the period we wanted to travel. I’m beyond excited for this and saying that I want to visit Egypt since I was a kid is an understatement!
One of the gifts Alessio did to me when we were just dating (almost ten years ago) was a book to learn how to translate hieroglyphics! One of the things I thought in that moment was “ Wow! I’m gonna merry this guy!”. Well, here we are! 👫
Thanks everyone who has sent me tips about Japan! It’s still on the plan but probably later in the year or next year spring!
In the picture there’s one of my favourite parts of Peak District! Love to come here for a walk. This place in particular is quite hidden and for this reason I love it!
Where are you going next?
Today’s feature is of the wintery sun bathing Hardwick Hall in light.
Sited on a hilltop between Chesterfield and Mansfield, overlooking the Derbyshire countryside, Hardwick Hall was designed by Robert Smythson in the late 16th century. Ordered by Bess of Hardwick, Countess of Shrewsbury and ancestress of the Dukes of Devonshire, it remained in the ownership of her descendants until the mid-twentieth century.
