Wanted to share this awesome @paulaschoiceuk#SkincareSale with everyone in this #SkincareCommunity. ☺ I have also listed some of my all-time favourite #PaulasChoice products, which I always repurchase & stock up on (sans the body lotion).
⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊⚊ 2x of my favourite 'Toner'-type products, 4x exfoliants, which I think @PaulasChoice has pretty much nailed. 👌 The 10% AHA body lotion is so hydrating, leaves you with nicely glowy skin & is excellent for the face, neck & body (I use both this & its 2% BHA analogue on my face & neck, as well, but personally prefer the BHAs listed above for my face). 1x antioxidant cocktail, which I think is PC's BEST product & very well priced.✌ 1x 1% Retinol serum, the RRP of which is absurd, IMO, but I alwas snag one when there is a 20% sale on as it makes it one of the most affordable well formulated 1% retinol products out there featuring a cocktail of calming & antioxidative ingredients. It is also truly effective & very gentle. I use this once a week, when I am giving my skin a break from my otherwise 0.1% tretinoin nightly treatments. 👌 And finally, 1x very well formulated product, which features a cocktail of brilliant ingredients & truly is very calming. I find it overpriced when not on sale, but the 20% sale makes is somewhat reasonably priced, IMO. I love this product for what it does for my redness-prone skin, but if you are npt redness prone, or your redness is due to an underlying condition, chronic or otherwise, this would most likely not help you in the slightest. ☺ #SkincareAddict#Skincare#SkincareRoutine
Let’s talk lip balm, because I have a new favorite. I got this last week as part of a GWP for the Paula’s Choice anniversary sale, and it’s a surprise hit. I’m already obsessed. I’ve used it every night since. I’m allergic to everything, so my lips are forever slightly chapped from mouth breathing at night (I know, cute 😏). I don’t know what witchcraft is in this (jk, it’s mineral oil and cholesterol), but it is SO moisturizing. My lips feel good the whole day after I use it. There’s no need for midday top ups. I also love that it stays on all night—I like to still feel it on my lips when I wake up. My only real complaint is that it’s very stiff, so you really have to dig to get it out of the pot. Because Paula’s Choice is fragrance free, it’s also not yummy smelling like a lot of lip balms are (not a big negative, but I do like a luxurious sensory experience). Overall, two thumbs up from me. 👍🏻👍🏻
This has been my morning routine the past couple of mornings. I’ve not been outside much so focussed on hydration rather than sun protection. I don’t worry about the sun to the extent where I just will not go out in it at all without protection. I have plenty of family members that haven’t worn sun protection in the UK ever and they look fantastic. I know there are dangers but eating pizza and drinking alcohol carry dangers too 😉. Each to their own. You might think I’m a fool but I’m happy not overly worrying about it to be honest! 😁
(Also I would’ve just sweated it off immediately today so figured it was pointless 😂.)
1️⃣Cleanse with #freshbeauty Soy Cleanser. Definitely taken over as my favourite morning cleanser.
2️⃣ #larocheposay Serozinc. I have a few spots from being run down last week so using this to speed up the healing process!
3️⃣ #tatcha The Essence. I’m running really low on this 😒. But also looking forward to trying the Swanicoco one I have as a backup.
4️⃣Mix of #jordansamuelskin Hydrate and #paulaschoice Niacinamide Booster.
5️⃣ #clinique Moisture Surge 72 hour auto-replenishing hydrator. This shit is gooooooood.
Friday Fun Fact
Let's Talk Peptides
What are they: On their own they made up of amino acids but when amino acids are combined in certain formations they produce peptides ( there are a lot of different kinds of peptides). Now, when peptides are formed in certain ways they make specific proteins.
Why is this important you ask?
Proteins are the main building blocks of skin. Without them the loses firmness, elasticity, and gains the appearance of fine line and wrinkles.
However, Peptides on their own can only do so much. They needs "friends". Any skin care formulation worth your hard earned money MUST include antioxidants, skin replenishing and skin resorting ingredients.
When peptides are blended with these ingredients they can now address multiple signs of aging in the best way possible barring cosmetic surgery.
When you are checking out your skin care ingredients don't just look for the peptides, make sure it has your super cocktail of all the necessary qualities required to do the job.
#1empty1newbie – ANTIOXIDANTS. Since my current skincare goals are to prevent premature aging, achieving even skin tone and texture - antioxidants along with retinol and chemical exfoliants play a crucial part in my skincare. I use the antioxidant serum on a daily basis to protect my skin from environmental damage. If the serum also contains some other skin beneficial ingredients,
that is a clear winner to me!
#EMPTY RESIST Super Antioxidant Serum – this is a great serum if you are happy with it’s feel on the skin. It is packed with amazing ingredients that everyone skin can benefit on a daily basis. If you like the texture ( it is silicone based serum so feels almost gel type), it might be the only serum you need. It contains such AOX as Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (stabilized vitamin C) and MAP, Q10, alpha-lipoic acid, Vitamin E, ferulic acid, Superoxide Dismutase to name a few. It also contains peptides, ceramides and glycerin (natural moisturizing factor).
I wanted this serum to work for my skin ( and I do have dry skin). However, I found it hard to layer with the rest of my skincare due to texture. I normally would use AOX serum right after using Hyularonic serum or mixed in with one, and this would need to be layered after my other serums. I also noticed that it would ball up with some of my day creams or lotions or foundation. I did finish it as I simply do not like to waste products, but #willitstayorgo – this is a go for me. Does anyone else use new combinations or less favorite products when going to the gym? With the idea that it is only going to be on my face for a short amount of time, I do. Sometimes with surprising results.
The Avene Antirougeurs cleanser is fine - gentle - but not special in terms of smell or texture, nor does it add a lot of skin benefits other than non-irritating cleansing
Forgot to put the toner in this pic 🤦 Used Indie Lee Lotion Q10. I really wanted to like this as it does have nice ingredients, but in the end I decided I just don't like the smell. Bit too soapy for me.
Paula's Choice Skin balancing super antioxidant concentrate serum is one of the two anti-oxidant serums I bought a trial size of. I find the texture of this one a bit too slippery, and like the other one better.
So I thought that combining the antioxidant serum with Indeed Hydraluron (bought on a whim when I saw it in a local perfumery) would surely result in some serious pilling. And if that wouldn't do the trick, that adding SPF in the form of Heliocare 360° Gel oil-free SPF50 would do it (this SPF seems to form a thin film, which sometimes feels quite sticky). Very surprised it didn't. No sticky feeling either. Turned out to be quite a good combination! 💙
Thursday night routine 21/06/18.
The longest day of the year = the longest skincare routine of the year 😂 tried something new today and used bha and retinol in the same routine. I’m trying to use up my retinol so I’m going to do this once a week and see how my skin tolerates it.
