The top was refinished in dark chocolate and sealed with a durable satin topcoat. What makes this piece truly special is the French script on all of the drawers and the beautiful details along the skirt. You can pick up this one of a kind piece for $695. Dont forget about the matching nightstands and mirror. As always shipping available throughout the US. Contact me for further details.
Saturday evening and I am having a wee tussle with one of the chair backs as it doesn't want to slot back in place 😲
There's always one awkward one isn't there 😂
Anyways not the best photo's but here is the rest of the dining set completed.
Sweet Peanut over Old Ivory with gentle distressing techniques for a soft timeworn elegance 😍

tl;dr: I finished my latest, FAVORITE furniture project!
About two months ago, Matt and I stopped at his family’s warehouse on the way back home from a graduation party. It was my first time seeing the warehouse/business so I got a grand tour. When we were leaving the back side, we left through a room that was kind of a holding place for things destined for Goodwill.
In the room was this beautiful, perfect hutch, which turned out to be Matt’s grandmother’s❣️Our condo’s kitchen is short on counter-space and since I do a lot of cooking, Momma needs her space! So when I saw this hutch, I immediately knew THIS was the extra storage unit my soul had always been searching for.
So, having done a handful of IKEA “hacks” and a few small custom pieces since 2014, I have been ITCHING to restore/makeover an antique so this was a very emotional day for me, to say the least 😭
After a few weeks had passed, Matt and I planned an “artist’s retreat” for my birthday at his (and mine now too 😜) Aunt Dorothy’s home. She has the most incredible workshop any artist or maker would DIE FOR in the middle of the serene and quiet woods of Sawyer, Michigan.
When the weekend arrived, Dorothy, Gigi, Matt, Martin and I worked on a lot of fun things. And the hutch was my main focus. Dorothy did so much cleaning and prep for me, it was so easy to get started!
I don’t know if Matt and I have a “style” or “theme” in our home, but if we did, I would say we’re very heavy on light grey/white (walls and furniture). But I wanted to take a risk with this piece and go bold - so I did - with my favorite color, green!
After topping it with the god-send PERFECT piece of marble (that Gigi randomly found one day in the warehouse!) and accenting it with some GORGEOUS Art Deco hardware, I couldn’t be more happy with the result!! I want to do so many more!!!
Many thanks to Matt’s dad, Tom, for hauling this thing to and from Chicago!! You rock Tom!
Wasn’t expecting that!
Picked up a cabinet I ‘won’ at auction after bidding online without actually seeing it ( I know, I know - you should never do that ) - just one small pic online.
Turns out it had a bit more to it than meets the eye, the outside is pretty knackered and a lot of veneer has gone and leather insert need replacing.
What would you do with this, I have an idea or two?
Spent this afternoon getting covered in teal! It’s my first time using acrylic paint on fabric and while it’s not totally dry yet I’m loving the result so far! The colour is so vibrant and it hides most of the problem areas in just one coat. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the legs—black, white, or grey?
