Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Steven Spielberg redeems himself with this trilogy narrative. Wanna argue with me about Indiana Jones being James Bond? Um Sean Connery is in this film as Indiana Jones father and Connery is known as the original James Bond!
If I want to be honest this film doesn’t feel like an Indiana Jones and more like The Da Vinci Code. What I mean by that is Indiana Jones is on the mission to rescue his father and must follow his father’s instruction laid out in his notebook. Knights of Templar, the Holy Grail, secret tunnels, traveling to different countries and libraries? Rings a bell?
Harrison Ford and Sean Connery chemistry is off the charts and the themes of father and son bonding feels genuine and heart warming. I love how witty these two characters are and I believe epitomizes 80s film. Temple of Doom and now the Last Crusade miss the mark in terms to the emotional impact I felt towards Raiders but as a original conceived trilogy this film brings it home. (4.5/5 Stars)

The world is full of lonely people waiting to make the first move -Tony Lip
Aragorn, er Viggo Mortensen, completely transforms. At times I had to remind myself who he is. His performance was brilliant, down to the chunks of love he gained. @mahershalaali was the perfect compliment in this buddy/road trip film....which is nothing new, but somehow they made it fresh. I couldn’t see anyone else in these roles. This exemplifies what a fine job they both did. I couldn’t see one without the other
Hats off to @krisbowersmusic for his hard work learning the music in three weeks. There was no sheet music so he had to transcribe Dr. Shirley’s work by ear. In turn he mentors Ali. he’s the secret sauce behind the performance. Thank Kris for writing me back on that post
Viggo Mortensen did so much on-camera eating he claims not to have eaten any of the catered food on set, and would retreat to his trailer during lunch to lie down and undo his belt. "I couldn't tell you what the catering was. I heard the catering was great!” Haha —————————————
Our second viewing of the film, I was invited to a special screening. We assumed it was at a large theater, and quickly realized it was in someone’s home!! We were slightly underdressed and some of the youngest in attendance. We felt honored to be in the room. I mean Gavin O’Connor was sitting in our row! I really wanted to talk to him. Hey Gavin... Warrior is still in my top must see list! Can I work on your next movie? No, I would never ask that (only think it silently as I shook his hand). I did however have a chat with the badass owner. He has an editing system in the theater! I mean hello, this guy knows what he’s doing. He told me, “Your enthusiasm for film will get you far in this industry. Always be a part of the solution, not the problem”. I won’t be forgetting that night anytime soon

Lembrem desse nome.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). I remember watching this in school and I absolutely loved it but this film has not aged well at all. When it comes the genre of action adventure it is still a strong film in that regard but the amount of stereotypes perpetrated is incredibly offensive and Kate Capshaw screaming is a nuisance.
It’s Spielberg least favorite Indiana Jones and it shows. When it comes to Indiana Jones, my understanding is this franchise is the American version to James Bond. The fact that it’s a sequel but a prequel is a bit disappointing and after falling in love with Karen Allen, I wanted to see her again and John Rhys-Davies.
After the creative innovation of Raiders, this film is a major letdown and a bit forgettable to be honest. Who knows how I feel about it in 2029 but overall I’m glad they resorted back to Nazis come the third film. (4/5 Stars)

1- #EmilyBlunt - Mary Poppins Returns
2- #NicoleKidman - Destroyer
3- #YalitzaAparicio - Roma
4- #ToniCollette - Hereditary
5- #JoannaKulig - Cold War
6- #ViolaDavis - Widows
7- #ElsieFisher - Eighth Grade
8- #RosamundPike - A Private War

Director Yorgos Lanthimos ALWAYS delivers and this time he has completely blown my expectations out of the water. Lanthimos has firstly struck gold with his ensemble cast including unexpectedly impressive portrayals from Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, each woman embodying independence, immaturity and pettiness in their roles. The film is based on real life characters and events, but manages to still feel as though the storyline wholeheartedly belongs to Lanthimos, utilising such beautifully intricate production design and specific character traits to convey that this world is still entirely constructed in the director’s recognisable image. The change between different lenses including an unconventional fish eye became highly noticeable, and layering of imagery made the editing and cinematography spectacularly original. Also the screenwriters of this film employed such a blunt, awkward, vulgar form of humour that made this film instantly loveable, the same sort that Wes Anderson frequently uses. Anyway I’m obsessed with this film and was easily one of the best from 2018, I hope to see many Oscar nominations in the next few days. (nominations are released 22nd!!!!)
