Happy Father’s Day to Uncle Yap aka my father who gave me my music education at Berklee college of music in Boston, US and at the same time sent my brother to Boston University to study business and accounting. A little bit about Uncle Yap, he was a former school teacher turned furniture manufacturer (Yap Furnishing) turned Real Estate Developer. His favourite sport is badminton. He was a champion player during his school days. My dad loves to listen to jazz. It’s his favourite kind of music and he besides my mother’s brothers influenced me to listen to all forms of jazz may it be piano or big band music at an early age. He would buy records, 1/4 inch tape reels, cassettes, cartridges and jazz was the choice of music. He even made his own speaker boxes. So it was easy when I told him I wanted to study jazz at berklee. He didn’t want me to go at first because I am the first born and he couldn’t bear to part with me to the other side of the world faraway from home. Well the rest is history I went and came back. Until now he only listens to jazz. I put Diana krall and Buble in his iPad and he likes it. 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 Thank you for everything. We wouldn’t be where we are if you didn’t give us our education abroad. Wishing you good health and may your cataract and glaucoma eyes heal well. Btw Uncle Yap still drives every single day and is restless and cannot stay at home. 😂😂👍👍🤦🏻♀️ He loves to eat Sup ekor with rice and teloq dadar. #fathersday2019#myoldman#uncleyap has put on weight. 😂 #fathersday#octagenarian#83yearsold

I took Jessie to my old college. She said she had never seen so many books in her 88 years.
A little nugget of observation... Ive noticed many of my "healthy", "fit", and "athletic" inspirations move with fluidity and purpose. I have thrown out what was on autopilot and am relearning the basic movements with my daughter as she is.
I find it hard to do a lot of the basic movements and positions she can do. @francheskafit and @primal.swoledier would be proud of the time I'm putting in at relearning how to move. The #octagenarian in me is happy I am finally taking the time as well. #🙏
Kind & Giant Hearted. My father, the Gemini. Visiting Mexico with my dad for his 80th birthday. It’s been good and it’s always good with this guy: sharing stories, asking difficult questions of one another. Listening and sharing. Realizing and acknowledging. Imagining and committing ourselves towards an ideal we’d not considered. I love this soft hearted, kind spirited, loving fellow. He told me today that he’s spent his life on the happiness and well being of his family. That’s a lot. That he stopped living for himself the moment he came home from the hospital with my big sister. We think about that in the moment, but—to hear an80 year old look upon his life in such fashion: I. Feel. Loved. I’m beyond grateful for this man. Too much to share about his many accomplishments and all the things he’s seen. I get my wit from my mom. From my father, my heart. #octagenarian
If 50 is the new 40, then 80 is the new 60!
Taking care of your health and maintaining strength is vital to enjoying life no matter your age.
So excited my mom is working to improve her strength. The investment is well worth it. I was fortunate to be in town when she met with her trainer, David @takes2fitnesstn
He was knowledgeable, supportive and also encouraging.
Maintaining strength in our body is critical to supporting the functions we require of it!
Happy Fitness Friday, y’all. #strength#fitness#balance#aginggracefully#octagenarian@midgefolger#nashville

Mama Has Aged Gracefully.
Has 80 ever looked so Beautiful?
The before and after shots of my garden before my grandma and I tackled it! It had turned into a bit of a beast but my amazing grandma came in and helped me sort it out. That woman is a force to be reckoned with!
