I hope everyone is enjoying a great Easter weekend and has tasted delicious chocolate so far. 🐰
For our part, we arrived late last night in Waiheke island where we will stay at Hekerua Bay until ANZAC day.🌺
We arrived by night so we couldn't guess what was surrounding our accommodation. But this morning... WOW!!!! (see pic!) Gorgeous view of Hekerua Bay and its shiny blue water bathed in an early sun. The house we stay in - eco and sustainable - is located in the bush where tuī, fantails and even bunnies have lots of fun.☺
Later in the morning/lunch time, we visited Onerua village and its little boutiques before stopping for a little brunch at Solar cafe. Again we couldn't be disappointed by the view (neither by our coffee or food)! On our way back I spotted We-Ar shop. O.h. m.y. g.o.d!!! I want everything from this eco-luxe brand!! I managed to come out of it without anything... yet! I know I will need to go back and decide on ONE item!🤤
Last stop before getting back to Hekerua Bay, an ice cream at Island Gelato! Perfect day so far!
Anyway... now it is time to try that Easter chocolate bar from Schoc. A little square of Wellington!😜
See you tomorrow for another chapter of a French-Wellingtonian in Waiheke island! 🌴

Chasing waterfalls and icebergs 👌🏼 left breathless because of the beauty, totally not because of the hikes that it took to get to these amazing spots 🤪
Every man and his dog!!! Easter Sunday ... perfect!!

We've sourced some of the best guides in the universe! 😂 But seriously, we're very proud of our team and love how they go above and beyond for our guests.
They're here to help so get your thinking cap on and ask all those burning questions! No query is too silly. Unless of course, it's about the moon being made of cheese...

Having all shared a handful of nature where wood fills your senses with aromas of forest. Native ferns. Berries. Dancing tones of spikenard. We laugh. We muse. We share the moment of departure. Staying at the housewithnonails Matamata New Zealand.
We were standing around in the morning sun saying goodbye to our guests from Canada. The scent of seasoned Wood wafting in the warm air from wood stacked ready to fuel the fire. Dewi plunges his nose in the peelings and we all gather to do the same.
Dewi and I are really excited about introducing to you some new team members!!! We have asked "Nix and Paul" to look after you here at the housewithnonails whilst we chase up a few hand hewn pegs in another part of the world. Welcome to our good friends from the UK. Globe trotters. Love each other. Love people. Love relaxing. Don't worry you are going to have some pretty super service over the next few weeks. Book a room at the housewithnonails and Let Nix and Paul pamper you.
Thinking of taking in a wild horse? Or ever wondered what it takes to train one?
Before our stables guide Thomas leaves for the season, we asked him to share his experience working with Awa, our newest wild Kaimanawa horse. 🐴

The turquoise waters of Lake Pukaki, NZ 💙 seeing Lake Pukaki was one of the highlights of my NZ trip. Apparently it’s the glacial flour that gives the lake this unique colour. Soo pretty right? 😍⠀
Hope you’ve all been well! Sorry I was absent for so long. Keen to share my photos and catch-up with you all 🙂
Your first 1,000 photographs are your worst 🙄 this gives me 872 more opportunities to become a real photographer 🤔. Thanks Henri Cartier-Bresson! I'll keep this train on track 🤙
On another note, can the trees in Arrowtown please change colour. I'm waiting very patiently over here and you were already here this time last year! 😱

Roaring rushing water below me and a small ledge to stand on. The places you put yourself as a photographer sometimes make you look back and think "yikes!" But thankfully @laurie_winter and myself worked and maneuvered ourselves along the small ledgings to click away some snaps of this quite amazing place!
It has been a very sad and intense week due to the shooting in Christchurch last Friday. I would like to send my condolences to the families affected and to the entire country that’s still in shock.
It is so unfair that some people live this every day in their home countries. Children that have never played and lived at peace. Many of those people are the ones who migrate looking for a better life and it is just so sad to think that there are still heartless people making their lives hard and in this case a real nightmare.
I know there is not much we can do right now. But we can choose to be kind to each other and be empathetic. Let’s beat the hate and fear with love and kindness 💕
