Wow isn’t this weather just gorgeous. You couldn’t ask for a better bank holiday. We’ve spent it moving house so far as we have just had all the flooring laid in our new place. Some time in the sun is due today.
I hope you all have the most amazing bank holiday and get up to lots of nice things. I can’t wait for ice creams at the beach later today.

HOW TO SURVIVE NIGHT SHIFT 🌙
If you know, you KNOW night shift has a whole different vibe and pace! There are LOTS of nurses who LOVE the night shift grind and never want to work days (hellooo night shift differential 😉). Here’s how to survive (coming from someone who normally goes to bed at 10pm):
1️⃣ Schedule them in a row!
The worst thing you can do to yourself is work every other night. How are you supposed to live?🤷🏻♀️ While 3 day shifts in a row are KILLER, 3 nights usually are much more manageable. Plus you’ll sleep really well when you get home.
2️⃣ Take a nap on your break
30 minutes, 1 hour, MAKE USE OF IT! Eat during your 15 minute break and let your body rest during your long break. I like to time this for my slump time.. which is usually between 3-5AM.
3️⃣ Pack healthy snacks
You may THINK you will not be hungry, but you will never know what hunger is until you didn’t pack yourself any snacks and its 3AM in the morning. You will literally eat anything and everything so make sure its something healthy. You don’t want to eat something heavy, food coma and have a hard time staying awake.
4️⃣ Make sure you have a flashlight in the room
Sleep hygiene= LIGHTS OFF and people are trying to sleep. I keep a flashlight on top of my med cart and prop it up to shine against the ceiling so I get a small field of light. Also consider buying a mini flashlight that goes on your badge! How else are you supposed to fill those lab tubes when you can’t see anything?
5️⃣ Can’t stay awake?! Try these
•Offer to help your neighbor
•Chew some gum
•Finally do that continuing education your manager assigned
Making music has so many positive effects on your child! 🎵🎶 The emotional development is stimulated. Such as learning about feelings and developing creativity.
Also the motor skills will be practiced by playing an instrument.
Making music also helps with your child's speech and language development.
