What colour of house in Notting Hill, London would you pick? Red? Yellow? Pink? Green? Blue? Comment below and I'll pick random replies to send out lovely bags of English fudge. Love this colourful shot by @loic.lagarde of the capital. It's a beautiful sunny day in the city today and it's due to be the hottest Wimbledon tennis final in over 20 years. Lashings of strawberries and cream for all!
So, Notting Hill is very well known thanks to the yearly carnival and the much loved film staring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant...So it's no surprise that house prices have rocketed over the years. In fact, back in 1968, when Tim and Penny Hicks bought the dilapidated 157 Portland Road for just £11,750 ($15,000) the latter's mother was shocked that they had chosen to move their family from up-market Chelsea into an area more known for rag and bone men than bankers.... but forty-four years later, their house is now worth more than £2 million pounds ($2.6 million) - I wonder if my small shed in northern England will be worth millions at some point? I think it's currently valued at £32.50p.
Have a lovely Sunday and a happy peaceful weekend! Lovely shot by @loic.lagarde 🇬🇧 Want your Photos of Britain to be featured? Follow us and then tag us in the picture too! 'Ta very much! 🇬🇧
