Ichiraku Ramen just recently opened on Geary and 18th in Richmond District. It was recommended by my friend who lives in the area. There was no wait when we arrived on Friday night at 6:30pm. They have a simple menu - 4 appetizers, 3 types of Tonkotsu ramen, 2 bowl sizes for the ramen, and a few drink options.
They use thinner noodles for all their ramen. The broth in the Red Garlic is tasty, not too garlicy, has a bit of a kick. The challenger has excellent noodle to broth ratio! The Black Garlic is more peppery tasting.
In addition to being a good ramen spot, they have such nice utensils! They are placed on each table for your own convenience. The designer inside of me wants to buy these spoons and chopsticks for home!

I'm ready to play "food truck" where she likes to pretend to be an unsatisfied customer (she's two!)🙈. This is how it works: I offer her different menu items and she says no to each one, then throws them across the room. •
Once in a while she will finally say yes to one, only to tell me "it's too pie-see" (that means spicy) and then throw that too. Then we switch and play the same scenario over and over and over and......😅
CoCo's Cacao Pudding:
(I didn't measure anything, so here are my guess-timates)
1/4 to 1/2 cup frozen 🍌 slices
2 tbsp cacao powder
3-4 tbsp chia seeds
A big 'ol spoon of almond butter
A few shakes of cinnamon
1/2 - 1 cup almond milk
Blend in a blender on high until smooth. Transfer into a Mason jar or other glass container and refrigerate overnight. Divide into glasses and top with fruit. About 2 servings.
@sunpotion sent me this great matcha powder. I drink a lot of green tea daily and can't get enough matcha lattes. As soon as I opened it, I could smell the matcha. I'm going to get a tea whisk but the cups I've made already had been great with a rich, earthy flavor. I'll definitely order this in the future and check out some of their other products.
2nd time and still in love with their food. Ugh. So good. They say not to have sushi or sashimi too often, but I think I have it at least every 2-4 days.🤦♀️ Mercury might come at me but my chopsticks be like #yolo. 🙌
LETS TALK ABOUT 💩
When you simply don’t give 2 💩 about what people think of you, it’s so damn liberating!
I turned 22 in June, and every birthday I reflect on how I’ve spent the year. Despite all the ups and downs, I am really proud because throughout the entire way I kept it REAL. In the past I recall cracking down because of others expectations and opinions about me while also trying to keep everyone happy around me..this led me to being really unhappy and drained 🤦🏽♀️ The hardest opinions to deal with was that of the people closest to me, my parents.
This year, I know better not to take them to heart because sometimes the people that love you the most will instill fear in you to protect YOU from something THEY’RE scared of, NOT YOU..THEM. In some cases they’re right but on others..I regret having asked. This year, I know who I am and I’m making myself proud and happy on my own terms! People who truly love you, will be happy if you’re happy not when you are only satisfying their needs for happiness. My mom scares me all the time out of stuff but when I go against the grain and she sees me come back happy, she’s happy and asks me a bunch of questions about it😅
If I loved you, I told you. If I disliked you, I told you as well. If I thought someone looked beautiful, I told them. If I felt like someone is down, I tried to put a smile on their faces. I’m satisfied, I didn’t bend over backwards for anybody unless it was for a good cause (the greater good in other words)
When the 💩 opinions of others are drowned out, failure almost becomes FUN( I swear)🤭
Finally finding my AUTHENTICITY, and it feels darn GOOD ✨
