I decided to see how well I could capture the moon with a D500, 70-200 at 200 with a 2X teleconverter on it. It was 200iso at f7.1 and 1/400s This is the result, cropped to roughly 1/5 of the total image. I like the amount of detail that I was able to get even though the moon was only about 35 degrees above the horizon. This could have just as easily been taken with an entry level camera and lens combination as the aperture is high, shutter speed is high and the ISO is low
Most iconic Innsbruck view by night. I brought a tripod with me but I forgot to bring that little part that connects tripod with the camera 🙈 how frustrating! It didn’t stop me from doing a bit of night photography!
