Have you ever gone out to eat and left inspired to recreate the meal? Sometimes the food is so good that you just can’t wait to eat it again. Sometimes it’s just meh and you know the dish has potential. Whatever the reason, it happens to us all the time, so we’re excited to share with you all our #RestaurantRecreations.
First up is #GrilladesandGrits! We had this classic Cajun dish at @trenasse on Sunday (2nd pic). It was tasty, but left me wanting to make it my way! (1st pic) So I cubed up some top round roast to get hunks of tender meat rather than the shredded meat in the restaurant version. I kept the steamed green beans, as they added a nice crunch. They used pepper jack cheese in the grits...but I only had cheddar so 🤷🏿♀️. Overall, both versions were good, but we like ours best!! Check out our story for progress pics!
Finally crossed @n7nola off my #nyresolutions list!! (I’ll repost it in my stories) It was just as magical of an oasis as I expected and then some. This included spotting @tyrese and @naomieharris—and the crew of upcoming cop thriller Black and Blue—casually dining two tables away from us. The #avocado salad with shaved #wasabi root was my favorite, don’t sleep on it!
Thursday’s special is paradise on a plate, our “Hawaii Five-0-4”! Pork tenderloin smoked to perfection and topped with a charred pineapple habanero BBQ sauce, a grilled pineapple slice and coleslaw... all nestled on a Hawaiian sweet bun! 🔥🏝🍍🐷🔥
