⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🇬🇧 To escape the hustle and bustle of New York's everyday life, Central Park offers a tranquil oasis in the north of Manhattan. Here you will find green park landscapes, large and small lakes, rock formations and, above all, a lot of peace and fresh air. However, if you want to explore the Central Park in one day, you should bring enough time - the park is much larger as you expect.

A very common sight in Rome’s street corners: the roasted chestnuts street vendors. It appears that Romans love their chestnut snacks as they go shopping or walking around in the evenings. There’s a vendor in almost every street.

The glow of Patatine Hill, one of the Seven Hills of Rome & the most ancient part of the city, as seen from Circus Maximus, the site of ancient Roman chariot races.

I’m really glad to have seen Rome without any particular agenda, just on the whims of what my eyes saw as I walked & walked.

The Colosseum absorbing much of the evening light. A last walkabout before I left for London.

Enroute to see the encased decapitated head of John the Baptist at San Silvestro in Capite, I was rewarded with this wonderful courtyard. This church was built in the 8th century & it’s the most random display of things put together. Yes, I included a photo of the encased head.

The Vatican from afar. The beauty of revisiting a major city like Rome is that I can just enjoy Rome without queuing for anything. What a timesaver.

Have you heard about Quartiere Coppedè, this wonderfully odd intersection of buildings that a mish mash of architectural designs? Named after its architect, Gino Coppedè, who worked on this area until his death. Worth a visit when in Rome.

Campo dei Fiori is known for its day market but I prefer the night atmosphere of this piazza esp with the ominous statue of Giordano Bruno, a philosopher, standing in the middle. He was burned at the stake during the Inquisition for heresy. His statue was resurrected by Freemasons, at the very spot he was killed, as a response of defiance against the Pope. You can standby anywhere in Rome & there will be an interesting story behind it.

Aperitivo in Italy is an important part of the day. It goes from 6pm-9pm & meant as a precursor to dinner, which normally starts after 9pm. I usually don’t participate in aperitivo because I tend to get too full from the snacks. I have terrible discipline. This was a delicious strawberry caipirinha with homemade chips though.

I don’t have a good relationship with jetlag but there have been times that it’s made things easier, like waking up at 3am to hike out to the pouakai tarns for sunrise! My favourite thing about this hike was being in complete darkness for two hours and then all of a sudden you emerge from a dense forest to incredible views of Mount Taranaki 🗻 Anyone else think that Taranaki is Fuji’s twin?

Shadows and sunlight intersect on the Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand. If you look closely you can spot the Centennial Hut and some small trails in the snow leading to and from the hut. Looks like the perfect place to escape to!
Earlier this month, I spent some time on the island of Nusa Lembongan, taking a dive course and exploring. My course had homework, so being able to watch the course videos and take notes on my #Spin5 by @acer_america helped me pass the course and get Open Water Certified.
