We loved all your reactions from our raven video last week and we would be raven mad not to do more corvid themed posts. So... Did you know that research from the University of Vienna in 2012 shows that ravens can recognize the calls of old acquaintances? Based on whether they hear former "friends" or "foes" they can change the characteristics of their caw back. Photo props to Greg Maurer whom shared this shot with us last week. #nevadafalls#nevadaspca#lasvegasnevada#tripgram#instatravel#travellolife#travelphotography 📷
This kid has no idea what he accomplished the other day, nor does he care but the mist trail is not easy, but worth it & I'm so proud of him. It's nothing without you! #happyisles#hikewithme#misttrailyosemite#vernalfalls#nevadafalls
&John Muir was closed so we had to come BK the way we came, which John Muir coming back is way better do it was Xtra challenging.
Fun fact:the last pic is taken across the way at the top of glacier point so u can see both waterfalls & that you were there & there.
Isn't it nice to be home?
At the end of my Scotland trip I was so sad to leave. I really didn't want to come back and had I not had to come home to teach I think I would have stayed! I felt like I grew so much as a person and I wanted to keep growing.
That's the thing with traveling is that at some point you have to go back home. At that moment it's a great time to reflect on the things you learned about yourself on the trip and make some changes. When going away from home you can almost feel like coming home creates a new you. -
Well, I learned a lot from my trip about me and it is continuing to open my mind to understanding myself more. I can't wait to go back and allow more of the Scottish mountains to open my mind to something more. -
My FAVORITE picnic of all time was when Brian and I sat at the very top of Nevada Falls in Yosemite National Park. It wasn't anything fancy...just a couple peanut butter sandwiches and warm water bottles, haha!
This past winter, I went on a hike along Merced River in Yosemite National Park. After a 6 mile hike, I was rewarded with close-up views of both Vernal and Nevada Falls. Unfortunately, this picture wasn't taken during peak runoff, which is generally from April to June, but the view was still stunning. The are so many more trails and waterfalls to explore in Yosemite. I can't wait to go back and hike Half Dome! #freesolo#yosemite#yosemitenationalpark#nevadafalls#waterfall#nature#naturephotography
Hikers lounging at the top of Nevada Fall running in full spring force. (PSA: This photo should give you an idea of how small and fragile humans are in big landscapes like Yosemite. Many people have died getting in the water along the Mist Trail not realizing how they would get swept away by the current. And a few weeks ago it came to light that a hiker who died around Nevada Fall last September was trying to pose for a "spectacular" photo of him hanging over the cliff; it didn't register to him that this was dangerous. Please be safe and come back alive.)
