Funkadeli’s Ministry of Negroni returned last night with 3 interesting takes on the #bittersweet#tipple by Daniele Baldo of Va Bene, including the Viceversa Negroni, with a Campari #caviar eaten with a spoon, so you could get your bitter kick before or after a sip of gin with Cinzano Bianco white vermouth; and the Negroni del Doge, a Venetian twist with Aperitivo Select, a slightly mellower red #aperitif liquor from Venice, added in place of Campari, working with Mancino Rosso vermouth and Bombay dry gin for a light and airy Negroni @funkagroup#funkadeli
Amaro Montenegro news! I report the news now.
I’ve been meaning to write up a little ode on experimenting with my favourite amaro for a while now, and a couple of unrelated news stories about Amaro Montenegro have given me all the excuse I need.
In two nutshells, Amaro Montenegro has joined the Mangrove Global portfolio, and also Aleksandra Jaworska (@aleks.jaw) of @bullardandworth has won the UK finals of the Amaro Montenegro Vero Bartender Competition with her incredible creation called an Aperitivo Francescano!
More details about both of these can be found in the link in my bio (👆) along with a few of my own recipes using the Montenegro. Including this Negroni riff, but the not the Negroni riff you are thinking of. Rather than replace the Campari element, the Amaro Montenegro actually swaps in for the Sweet Vermouth here making it a one-part-gin-two-part-bitter-all-part-delicious Negroni.
Obviously, this is called a Montenegroni

Congratulations to my good friends and occasional partners in crime @thebestdrinkever for reaching 100000! followers today.
To help celebrate let’s take a look at one of their latest clips.
The amazing @bad_birdy is preparing a barrel aged coffee negroni. Yep! I don’t even need to try this drink to know it’s gonna be mind blowing 💥
Amanda, you need to save me some of that.
Never stop searching for that best drink ever. Congrats to the entire team:
Join me @barmaxextra for all things mixology.
My drinkstagram friend Amy @moodymixologist recently whipped up this awesome Negroni riff so I had to give it a whirl myself. It’s not as bracing as a traditional Negroni and the apple cinnamon flavors are a perfect compliment to fall weather.
1.5 oz @lairdsapplejack
1 oz Cocchi Americano
.5 oz @suzeofficial
.5 oz *apple cinnamon syrup
*Apple cinnamon syrup: Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water, 1 large washed and chopped granny smith apple, and 1 cinnamon stick. Heat over medium heat until boiling, then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool and steep for a couple hours, then strain into a clean glass jar and store in the refrigerator. Add 1/2 oz vodka to extend shelf life.
